With the postseason approaching, Central Florida girls’ basketball players last week pointed their teams to some big victories.

We looked at teams from Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, and Indian River counties and nominated 18 athletes for the SBLive Central Florida Girls Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 22-27, 2024.

We ask you, the fan, to decide who should the top player selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 11:59pm and will be announced in next week’s poll.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. Here are this week's nominees:

Ava Chmielinski, Shooting Guard, Foundation Academy (Winter Garden): Freshman scored a career-high 25 points to lead the Lions past Trinity Christian Academy, 59-30.

McKenna Murphy, Guard, Boone (Orlando): Senior dropped 15 points on River Ridge in a 33-32 victory. She also scored 19 points in a 52-31 win against Lake Howell (Winter Park), and 16 points in a 51-16 romp against Harmony.

Tyler Seay, Point Guard, Winter Park: Sophomore pumped in 13 points in a 41-22 victory against Windermere.

Grace Jervis, Guard, Cornerstone Charter (Belle Isle): The 5-10 junior scored 21 points to lead the Ducks past Mater Brighton Lakes, 46-31. She also scored 12 points in a victory against Lake Mary Prep.

Molly Beliveau, Utility, The First Academy-Leesburg: Senior scored 12 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for a double-double in a 41-20 win against Orangewood Christian (Maitland).

Cassi Monn, Center, Mount Dora Christian: The 6-foot sophomore pumped in 18 points to lead the Bulldogs past Winter Springs, 46-41.

Kylee Kitts, Forward, Hagerty (Oviedo):The 6-2 senior exploded for 41 points in a big 63-45 victory against cross-town rival Oviedo. She also had 13 points in a 60-12 victory against Lyman (Longwood).

Chloe Sotell, Guard, Montverde Academy: The 6-0 senior from Stamford, Conn., poured in 25 points to lead the Eagles past The Academy of Central Florida, 80-49.

Ava Pazos, Guard, Olympia (Orlando): Star sophomore turned in a strong performance with 15 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals in a 60-44 loss to South Lake (Groveland). She also had 17 points in a 64-57 double-overtime loss setback to East Ridge (Clermont).

Lexi Blue, Shooting Guard/Small Forward, Lake Highland Prep (Orlando): The 6-2 senior recorded 16 points and four assists to lead the Highlanders past Windermere Prep, 63-20. She also had 16 points and five rebounds in a 73-70 loss to Dr. Phillips (Orlando).

Leah Bullard, Forward/Center, Dr. Phillips (Orlando): The 6-1 senior erupted for 19 points to lead the Panthers past Lake Highland Prep (Orlando), 73-70.

Hailey Hunt, Point Guard, East Ridge (Clermont): Senior turned in a stellar performance with 29 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double in a 64-57 double-overtime triumph against Olympia (Orlando). She eclipsed 1,000 points for her career.

Faith Wener, Shooting Guard, City of Life Christian (Kissimmee): The 6-2 senior exploded for 21 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double and added three blocks to lead the Warriors past Deltona Trinity, 61-41.

Haylee Morelli, Point Guard/Shooting Guard/Small Forward, Trinity Christian (Deltona): Freshman scored 22 points in a loss to City of Life Christian.

Jaida Civil, Guard, Palm Bay: The 6-0 junior pumped in 12 points to lead the Pirates past Cocoa, 54-20, for the Cape Coast Conference Tournament championship.

Anovia Sheals, Forward, Mainland (Daytona Beach): Senior dropped 30 points on Spruce Creek (Port Orange) to lead the Bucs to a 67-45 victory in the Five Star Conference championship game.

Aubriyonna Felder, Forward, Vero Beach: Recorded 13 points, nine rebounds and two assists to lead the Indians past Westwood (Fort Pierce), 70-42.

Isabella Bowen, Forward, Sebastian River: Notched 11 points and seven rebounds in a 48-9 rout of Port St. Lucie.
