Vote: Who should be SBLive’s Central Florida Boys Basketball Player of the Week (2/5/2024)?

We’ve selected 31 candidates for your voting consideration

Central Florida high school boys’ basketball players continue to record some big-time performances as the 2023-24 regular season comes to a close.

We looked at teams from Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, and Indian River counties and nominated 31 athletes for the SBLive Central Florida Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 29-Feb. 3, 2024.

We ask you, the fan, to decide who should the top player selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, Feb. 11, at 11:59pm and will be announced in next week’s poll.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. The poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Cooper Flagg, Forward Montverde Academy: The 6-foot-9 senior from Newport, Maine, who is committed to Duke, recorded 28 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four blocked shots to lead the unbeaten Eagles (24-0) past St. Rose High School, 84-55, on day three of the Metro Classic in Franklin Township, N.J. He also had 14 points and eight rebounds in a 75-54 victory against LaLumiere.

Kellan Lewis, Shooting Guard, Lake Highland Prep (Orlando): Senior scored 24 points to propel the Highlanders past Circle Christian, 89-39.

Daren Leath, Shooting Guard, Apopka: The 6-1 senior pumped in 19 points to lead the Blue Darters past Winter Park, 56-43. He also had 15 points in a 62-41 win against George Jenkins (Lakeland), and 16 points in a 57-56 win against Dr. Phillips (Orlando).

Dylan Labuhn, Shooting Guard, The Master’s Academy (Oviedo): The 6-3 senior scored 23 points to lead the Eagles past Holy Trinity Episcopal (Melbourne), 67-57. Earlier, he had 15 points in a 58-48 win against Lake Nona.

Princeton Gordon, Power Forward/Center, Lake Brantley (Altamonte Springs): The 6-6 junior poured in 23 points to lead the Patriots past Winter Springs, 59-43.

Mateo Medina, Guard, The Geneva School (Casselberry): Freshman exploded for 36 points, eight rebounds, seven steals and six assists to lead the Knights past City of Life Christian (Kissimmee), 78-70.

Isaac Manlove, Utility, City of Life Christian (Kissimmee): Sophomore poured in 35 points in a loss to The Geneva School (Casselberry).

Cheo James, Guard, Boone (Orlando): The 6-3 senior dropped 18 points on East River (Orlando) in a 59-55 victory. He also had 21 points and four rebounds in a 68-33 win against Lake Buena Vista.

Caden Douglass, Power Forward/Small Forward/Shooting Guard, Hagerty (Oviedo): Senior exploded for 25 points and 10 assists for a double-double and added six rebounds and five steals in a 101-77 triumph against Timber Creek (Orlando).

London Hatch, Forward, Dr. Phillips (Orlando): The 6-3 sophomore broke loose for 34 points, including a school record eight 3-pointers, and nine rebounds to lead the Panthers past West Orange (Winter Garden), 73-62.

Randy Jean Charles, Utility, Osceola (Kissimmee): The 6-5 junior scored 12 points to lead the Kowboys past Mount Dora Christian, 53-45.

Javi Rowell, Point Guard, Mount Dora Christian: Senior exploded for 21 points in a loss to Kissimmee Osceola.

Jemeh Jones, Small Forward, Orlando Christian Prep: The 6-5 senior turned in another stellar effort with 25 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double to pace the Warriors past Lake Minneola, 59-43.

King Williams, Guard, Elite Prep Academy (Orlando): Freshman pumped in 20 points in a 64-34 victory against Space Coast Christian Academy.

Dwayne Foreman III, Guard, Hope Academy (Groveland): Fantastic freshman recorded 30 points, six assists and six steals in a 77-71 loss to South Lake (Groveland).

Sinan Huan, Center Windermere Prep: The towering 7-foot sophomore erupted for a triple-double with 15 points, 17 rebounds and 10 blocked shots to lead the Lakers past Matanzas, 66-47.

Antonio Pollard, Point Guard/Wing, Evans (Orlando): Junior poured in 20 points to lead the Trojans past Edgewater (Orlando), 60-51.

Jacob Osborne, Guard/Forward, Foundation Academy (Winter Garden): The 6-3 senior recorded 17 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double to lead the Lions past West Orange (Winter Garden), 64-47.

T.J. Drain, Power Forward, Windermere High: The talented 6-7 junior exploded for 20 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double and added six blocks to lead the Wolverines past Ocoee, 75-45.

Justynn Thomas, Utility, Ocoee: Senior scored 17 points in a loss to Windermere High.

Jarett Johnson, Guard, Real Life Christian Academy (Clermont): Junior erupted for a school record 45 points, including a school-best 13 three-pointers, in 99-39 rout of Apopka Christian.

Logan Robison, Center/Power Forward/Small Forward, Winter Park: The 6-4 senior recorded 15 points and three assists to pace the Wildcats past University High (Orange City), 63-34.

Angel Romeu, Guard, Life Christian Academy (Kissimmee): Sophomore exploded for 35 points in a 75-67 win against City of Life Christian.

Jonathan Powell, Shooting Guard, Father Lopez (Daytona Beach): The 6-3 junior poured in 24 points to lead the Green Wave past St. Joseph.

Nathan Kirk, Point Guard, Mainland (Daytona Beach): Sophomore turned in another strong effort with 19 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 58-52 win against Seminole (Sanford).

Ryan Blount, Guard/Forward, Rockledge: Talented senior erupted for 38 points, including five 3-pointers, and five rebounds and two steals to lead the Raiders past Eau Gallie (Melbourne), 83-53.

Davionte Strozier, Guard, Titusville: Senior recorded 21 points and five steals to lead the Terriers past Merritt Island, 67-63.

Michael Otero, Guard, Satellite: The sophomore notched 20 points, including four 3-pointers, and two steals to lead the Scorpions past Bayside (Palm Bay), 57-45.

Tristan Hamilton, Small Forward, Melbourne Central Catholic: The 6-3 sophomore had 16 points, five rebounds, two assists and nine steals in a 59-39 win against Florida Prep (Melbourne).

Andrew Simpson, Guard/Forward, Sebastian River: The 6-4 junior recorded 22 points, including four 3-pointers, and nine rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 66-46 win against Tradition Prep (Port St. Lucie).

Gary Anderson, Utility, St. Edward’s (Vero Beach): The 6-5 junior scored 18 points in a 40-35 victory against Melbourne Central Catholic.
