Vote: Who should be SBLive’s Central Florida Softball Player of the Week (2/29/2024)?

It may be early in the 2024 season, but Central Florida high school softball players are already tearing the cover off the ball.

We looked at teams from multiple counties and nominated 24 athletes for the SBLive Central Florida Softball Player of the Week for Feb. 19-24, 2024.

We ask you, the fan, to decide who should the top player selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 3, at 11:59pm and will be announced in next week’s poll.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. The poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Sophie Shaik, Utility, Windermere Prep: Went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI to lead the Wolverines past Calvary Christian, 6-4.

Makiah Palacio, Second Baseman/Pitcher/Shortstop, South Lake (Groveland): Talented sophomore ripped two doubles, scored a run, and drove in three runs to lead the Eagles past Seven Rivers Christian (Lecanto), 16-1.

Chloe Stone, Outfielder/Third Baseman/Catcher, South Lake (Groveland): Freshman went 3-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI to propel the Eagles past South Sumter, 6-3.

Faith Ferrer, Utility, Osceola (Kissimmee): Freshman went 2-for-3 with a triple, one run scored and three RBI to lead the Kowboys past Canterbury, 7-0.

Alexis Miranda, Pitcher, Osceola (Kissimmee): Steady senior hurled a five-inning shutout, striking out nine, in a 7-0 victory against Canterbury.

Emma Wolfgramm, Infielder, Boone (Orlando): Junior went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run scored and three RBI to propel the Braves past Bishop Moore (Orlando), 12-1.

Yami Cordova, Shortstop/Utility, Cornerstone Charter (Belle Isle): Eighth-grader ripped a triple, scored two runs and drove in three runs to lead the Ducks past Liberty (Kissimmee), 17-0.

Eden Bastian, Catcher/Outfielder, The Geneva School (Casselberry): Seventh-grader collected two hits and drove in two runs to lead the Knights past Deltona Trinity Christian, 9-4.

Kaliegh Langmo, Utility, Orangewood Christian (Maitland): Freshman went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI to lead the Rams past Father Lopez (Daytona Beach), 16-0.

Lauren McMeel, Third Baseman/Shortstop/Catcher, The Master’s Academy (Oviedo): Sophomore went 2-for-2 with a walk, double, three runs scored and two RBI to lead the Eagles past Legacy Charter (Ocoee), 12-2.

Jenna McCormick, Utility, East River (Orlando): Went 3-for-3 with a walk, double, four runs scored and two RBI in a stellar showing for the Falcons, who beat Dr. Phillips (Orlando), 16-0.

Anaya Josue, Outfielder/First Baseman, Tohopekaliga (Kissimmee): Freshman went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and one RBI to lead the Tigers past Freedom (Orlando), 12-0.

Avery Keller, Catcher/Second Baseman/Pitcher, The First Academy-Leesburg: Talented seventh-grader enjoyed a monster day for the Eagles, going 6-for-6 with a triple, four runs scored and two RBI in a 22-11 victory against Wildwood.

Leila Susaia, Infielder, Montverde Academy: Junior went 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored and two RBI to lead the Lake County power past Lake Highland Prep (Orlando), 15-0.

Olivia Church, Shortstop/Second Baseman, Olympia (Orlando): Star sophomore crushed three doubles and scored four runs to propel the Titans past Cypress Creek (Orlando), 11-5.

Gabby Hiles, Utility, Eustis: Went 3-for-3 with two doubles, three runs scored and four RBI to lead the Panthers past New Smyrna Beach, 21-1.

Jenna Klein, Utility, Timber Creek (Orlando): Smacked two hits, including a double, to lead the Wolves past Seminole (Sanford), 5-3.

Avery Velazquez, Utility, Horizon (Winter Garden): Senior went 3-for-3 with a double and one RBI to push the Hawks past Poinciana (Kissimmee), 10-0.

Hannah Booth, Utility, Winter Springs: Went 2-for-3 with three RBI to guide the Bears past Lyman (Longwood), 11-1.

Peyton Kolva, Utility, Mount Dora: Freshman went 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored and three RBI to lead the Hurricanes past Crescent City, 18-2.

Brooke Scott, Shortstop/Utility, St. Cloud: Senior went 3-for-4 with four RBI to lead the Bulldogs past Olympia, 12-2, in six innings.

Riley Scanlon, Pitcher, Winter Park: Sophomore went 2-for-3 and pitched a complete-game shutout to lead the Wildcats past Lake Nona (Orlando), 4-0.

Rylie Morris, Outfielder, Lake Brantley (Altamonte Springs): Fantastic freshman went 5-for-5 with one RBI to lead the Patriots past Ocoee, 10-4.

Jasmine Francik, Pitcher, Melbourne: The FSU commit hurled a one-hitter, striking out an astounding 25 batters and walking only one, in 10 innings in a 2-1 win over Lake Mary.
