Vote: Who should be SBLive’s Central Florida Baseball Player of the Week (3/6/2024)?

We’ve selected 18 candidates for your voting consideration

Central Florida high school baseball players continue to light up the scoreboard in 2024, and then some.

We looked at teams from multiple counties and nominated 18 athletes for the SBLive Central Florida Baseball Player of the Week for Feb. 26-March 2, 2024.

We ask you, the fan, to decide who should the top player selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 10, at 11:59pm and will be announced in next week’s poll.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. The poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Roby McClarnon, First Baseman, Orangewood Christian School (Maitland): Senior went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI in an 11-1 win against Cornerstone Charter.

Liam Lamprecht, Utility, Legacy Charter (Ocoee): Senior went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI in a 10-7 victory against The Geneva School (Casselberry).

Jayden Rodriguez, Utility, Umatilla: Went 2-for-4 with a double and three runs scored in a 13-4 victory against Wekiva (Apopka).

Bryan Schutte, Catcher, Mount Dora Christian: The 6-foot-2 senior went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI in a 17-11 win against Lyman (Longwood).

Robbie Mitchell, Pitcher, Oviedo: Star senior hurled a no-hitter through five innings, striking out eight, in a 2-1 victory against Lake Brantley (Altamonte Springs).

Nick Burgos, Pitcher, Lake Brantley (Altamonte Springs): Junior pitched a two-hitter through five innings, striking out nine, in a loss to Oviedo.

Sebastian Montanez, Outfielder/Pitcher/Catcher, University High (Orlando): Junior threw a one-hitter through four innings, striking out nine and walking two, in a 17-1 victory against Oak Ridge (Orlando).

Tanielu Cox, Catcher/Pitcher/First Baseman, Cornerstone Charter (Belle Isle): Super sophomore went 3-for-3 with a home run, two doubles, two runs scored and four RBI to lead the Ducks past Trinity Christian (Deltona), 8-7.

Caden McNamara, Utility, Trinity Christian (Deltona): Junior went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored in a loss to Cornerstone Charter.

Kaleb Bermudez, Third Baseman/Pitcher, Gateway (Kissimmee): Super sophomore went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two triples, three runs scored and three RBI to lead the Panthers past Liberty (Kissimmee), 19-6.

Julian Mercado, Junior, The Master’s Academy (Oviedo): Went 4-for-4 with a home run, three doubles and six RBI to lift the Eagles past Orlando Christian Prep, 19-6.

Conner McAfee, Pitcher, Apopka: Junior right-hander struck out seven in three innings to lift the Blue Darters past Ocoee, 16-1.

Max Murray, Utility, Hagerty (Oviedo): Went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored to lead the Huskies past Winter Springs, 11-1.

Talan Bell, Pitcher, Hagerty (Oviedo): Hurled a one-hitter through five innings, striking out nine, in a win against Winter Springs.

Anthony Picciano, Utility, Montverde Academy: Went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI to lead the Eagles past Dothan High (Ala.), 9-3, in Day 1 of the Alabama Showdown in Hoover.

Hudson Moberly, Utility, Tohopekaliga (Kissimmee): Went 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI to lift the Tigers past Dr. Phillips (Orlando), 11-1.

Zane Barron, Catcher, Seabreeze (Daytona Beach): Star senior went 4-for-5 with a double, triple, one run scored and four RBI to push the Sandcrabs past St. Augustine, 11-8.

Chase Wilson, Infielder, Vero Beach: Senior went 4-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and one RBI to lead the Indians past Treasure Coast (Port St. Lucie), 10-0.
