Vote: Who is the South Florida Girls Flag Football Player of the Week (3/11/2024)?
The Florida High School Girls Flag Football season is in full swing and we begin our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams have started off the regular season with some great individual performances.
As such, we have 10 athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s South Florida high school girls flag football player of the week award from March 4-March 9, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 17th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.
Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.
Here are the nominees:
Mikayla Miller, Miami Edison: The senior defensive back had two interceptions in the Red Raiders’ 19-0 win over Goleman.
Sam Calavetta, Majory Stoneman Douglas: Calavetta had a solid game against Olympic Heights, finishing 12-of-25 for 219 yards and two touchdowns.
Jerniyah Fowles, Homestead: The junior quarterback completed 13-of-20 passes for 178 yards and four touchdowns in a 40-0 win over Keys Gate.
Lauren Holdchauer, Western: The senior dynamo scored two touchdowns through the air and nabbed two interceptions in a 21-0 win over Everglades last week.
Ava Rivera, Pembroke Pines Charter: Rivera was solid in a 21-0 win over Deerfield Beach, throwing for 257 yards and three touchdowns.
Armanye Ceaser, Boyd Anderson: The senior wide receiver hauled in four passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns in a 36-30 win over Blanche Ely.
Paige Bressman, Jensen Beach: The junior quarterback completed 7-of-8 passes for 86 yards, three touchdowns in a Falcons’ 40-0 over Sports Leadership & Management.
Jordana Weil, Park Vista: The sophomore quarterback completed 19-of-28 passes for 219 yards and four touchdowns in 39-6 win over Oxbridge Academy.
