Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Florida High School Athlete of the Week for Mar. 4-Mar. 9 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 17th at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Here are the nominations: 

Troy Guthrie, Baseball, Parrish Community: Pitching a 1-0 perfect game gem against Braden River, Guthrie went seven innings, no hits, no runs, no walks and fanned 12 batters. Quite the outing. 

Jackson Bradley, Baseball, Inspiration Academy: in a 6-3 win over FSBE Academy, Bradley, a junior pitcher, went four strong innings and allowed one hit, one run and fanned five batters. 

Zac Flitcraft, Baseball, Bozeman: Flitcraft helped guide the Bucks to two victories last week. The sophomore went 3-8, with four RBIs and two home runs. He also scored three runs over these two games.

Adam Wehse, Baseball, Pinellas Park: The senior hurler went the distance, pitching seven strong innings, striking out 10 in a 5-2 win over Boca Ciega last week. 

Easton McMahan, Baseball, Clay: McMahan went 5-for-9 with four RBIs and one double in three games last week. He hit one home run and scored an additional three times in last week’s action as well.

Dominic May, Baseball, Northeast: May pitched six innings of shutout ball, allowing just three hits and striking out six in a 6-0 win over Keswick Christian. 

Ty Arafet, Baseball, The First Academy: Sophomore went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBI to lead the Royals past Lake Highland Prep, 8-6, in a battle of Orlando private schools.

Kerra Clarida, Softball, Middleburg: Clarida also had a big week from behind the plate for Middleburg. She tallied seven hits in in thirteen at bats with eight RBIs. She hit four doubles, two home runs and scored seven runs.

Jayden Heavener, Softball, Pace: The senior went 4-for-6 with three RBIs and one home run as Pace continues their dominance in the panhandle. She also pitched five innings combined in both games and had 16 strikeouts.

Makenna Meadows, Softball, Lake Region: Meadows was on her game in a 6-1 win over McKeel Academy. The junior went nearly six innings, one hit and struck out 12 batters. 

Avery Velazquez, Softball, Horizon: Senior pitched a complete-game shutout, striking out 11 in seven innings, to guide the Hawks past The First Academy, 10-0.

Makenna Lee, Softball, Palmetto: Lee brought her best stuff to the mound in a 3-1 win over Sarasota, going eight innings, allowing two hits and striking out 11 batters.

Rylee Little, Softball, Parrish Community: Little went the distance in the Bulls’ 9-1 win over Sumner, allowing just four hits, one run and striking out 11. 

Emily Boylan, Softball, Palm Harbor University: The senior pitcher went the full seven innings, allowed two hits, no runs and fanned seven batters in a 3-0 win over Mitchell. 

Ashley Daniels, Softball, Olympic Heights: Daniels went 4-for-4 at the plate in Olympic Heights’ 21-5 win over Delray Beach Atlantic, as she also drove in four runs and hit two triples. 

Alexis McLaughlin, Softball, Tarpon Springs: The freshman pitcher went five innings and struck out 14 batters in the Spongers’ 16-2 win over Anclote. 

Jhenelle Francis, Girls Flag Football, Apopka: Threw two TD passes and ran for another score to propel the Blue Darters past Evans, 20-0. 

Violet Marcelin, Girls Flag Football, Ridge Community: The sophomore went off in the Bolts' 35-12 victory over Frostproof last week. Marcelin completed 12-of-14 passes for 440 yards and five touchdowns. A near perfect performance overall. 

Isabella Kendall, Girls Flag Football, Navarre: The senior signal caller completed 22-of-32 passes for 186 yards and three touchdowns in a 20-13 win over Pace. 

Lola Pedersen, Girls Flag Football, Atlantic Coast: The senior quarterback completed 14-of-24 passes for 165 yards and five touchdowns in a 54-0 win over Wolfson. 

Cydnee Brooks, Girls Flag Football, Braden River: The Pirates’ quarterback completed 20-of-22 passes for 203 yards and six touchdowns in a 61-0 rout of Manatee.
