Vote: Who is the South Florida Girls Flag Football Player of the Week (3/18/2024)?
The Florida High School Girls Flag Football season is in full swing and we begin our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams have started off the regular season with some great individual performances.
As such, we have eight athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s South Florida high school girls flag football player of the week award from March 11-March 16, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 24th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.
Here are the nominees:
Sarai Rubaine, Somerset Academy: The freshman linebacker led the way in a 19-6 win over iMater Charter, tallying 10 flag pulls and an interception.
Kelis Durham, Homestead: Homestead rolled to a 42-0 win over Hialeah, with Durham having herself a huge game, catching eight passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns.
Dierra Walton, Miami Central: The senior signal caller threw for 45 yards, rushed for 62 and scored two touchdowns in the Rockets’ 18-12 win over Miami.
Sakura Barnes, Somerset Academy South Homestead: Barnes is just an eighth grader, but is lighting it up throwing the ball. The quarterback completed 10-of-18 passes for 165 yards and four touchdowns in a 28-12 win over Doral Academy.
Stella Gutierrez, St. Thomas Aquinas: Gutierrez arguably had the top passing performance last week of any girls flag quarterback. The Raiders’ signal caller completed 29-of-37 passes for 333 yards and six touchdowns in a 46-6 win over Don Soffer Aventura.
Ava Alvarez, Miami Palmetto: The Panthers’ quarterback had a big night in a 32-0 win over Monsignor Pace, throwing for 147 yards and five touchdowns.
Samantha Calavetta, Stoneman Douglas: The sophomore signal caller made quick work of Plantation, throwing for 185 yards and four touchdowns in the 50-0 victory.
Meagan Berger, Pembroke Pines Charter: In a 19-0 shutout victory over South Broward, Berger was everywhere on the field and tallied 13 flag pulls and an interception.
