Vote: Who is the South Suncoast Softball Player of the Week (3/18/2024)?

We have eight candidates for you to choose from

The Florida High School Softball season is in full swing and we begin our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams have started off the regular season with some great individual performances.

As such, we have eight athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s South Suncoast high school softball player of the week award from March 11-March 16, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 24th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Congratulations to last week’s winner: Jaylin Pinedo of Port Charlotte.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are the nominees:

Kaydence Evans, Braden River: Evans has continued her hot hand in the 941, with the sophomore going five innings of one hit ball and striking out 11 in a 12-0 win over Cardinal Mooney.

Rylan Goar, Saint Stephen’s Episcopal: The pitcher led the way in the Falcons’ 11-1 win over Bayshore, going just over four innings, one hit, one run and striking out six.

Makenna Lee, Palmetto: The junior pitcher was solid in a 14-0 win over Manatee, with Lee going five innings, allowing just two hits and striking out nine.

Desiree Aitken, Palmetto: Aitken had herself a pitching gem in a 4-0 victory over Hernando, going seven strong innings, yielding just two hits and striking out nine.

Mackenzie Vaughan, Lemon Bay: The senior had two hits and two runs driven in to lift the Manata Rays to a 6-5 win over Port Charlotte.
