Vote: Who is the Tampa Bay Baseball Player of the Week (3/19/2024)?

We have 13 candidates for you to choose from

The Florida High School Baseball season is in full swing and we begin our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams have started off the regular season with some great individual performances.

As such, we have 13 athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s Tampa Bay Florida high school baseball player of the week award from March 11-March 16, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 24th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Congratulations to last week’s winner: Gabe Troya, Carrollwood Day School!

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are the nominations:

Gabe Troya, Carrollwood Day: Troya is back on the list after winning last week and for good reason. The junior pitcher went the distance in a 2-0 win over Brooks-DeBartolo, going seven innings, allowed four hits and struck out nine.

Tanner Swank, Plant: In the Panthers’ 14-4 win over Wharton, Swank contributed with driving in three runs, scoring once and hitting a double.

Mooch Lilly, Robinson: The Knights’ senior hurler went five strong innings, allowing one hit, one run and striking out six batters in a 9-1 win over Tampa Freedom.

Zach Callahan, Gaither: Callahan was impressive on the mound in a 5-1 win over Plant City, with the pitcher going six innings, allowing four hits, one hit and striking out six.

Braiden Price, Cambridge Christian: Price’s three RBIs was the difference in the Lancers’ 8-6 win over Chamberlain last week. The freshman’s lone hit drove in three runs.

Langston Sallis, Tampa Prep: The sophomore had a nice night at the plate in the Terrapins’ 12-1 win over Barron Collier, notching two hits and driving in three runs.

Alex Sotiropoulos, Tampa Catholic: The senior right-hander had himself a solid outing in the Crusaders’ 2-1 win over Alonso, going five innings and striking out 10.

Zach Roxby, Clearwater Central Catholic: Roxby’s bat was hot in a 10-3 win over Hollins, notching three hits (triple away from the cycle), driving in three runs.

Jonathan Torna, Chamberlain: Torna was perfect at the plate in the Storm’s 10-0 win over Brandon, notching a 4-for-4 night and driving in two runs.

Vincent DeCarlo, Jesuit: In the Saladino Tournament championship, DeCarlo tallied three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs in a 12-3 win over Jefferson.

Ivan Vasquez, Land O’ Lakes: The sophomore belted a solo home run that proved to be the difference in a 2-0 win over River Ridge last week.

Dominic Italiano, Sunlake: Italiano, a junior, belted a three-run homer to lift the Seahawks to a 9-2 win over Springstead.

Aiden Fox, Bishop McLaughlin: The junior infielder went 3-for-3 at the plate, including a double and driving in a run, helping the Hurricanes defeat Citrus 9-7 last week.
