Vote: Who should be SBLive’s Central Florida Baseball Player of the Week (3/19/2024)?

We’ve selected 28 candidates for your voting consideration

Central Florida’s high school baseball players are showing the stuff of champions this season, and we’re only halfway through March.

We looked at teams from multiple counties and nominated 28 athletes for the SBLive Central Florida Baseball Player of the Week for March 11-16, 2024.

We ask you, the fan, to decide who should the top player selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 24, at 11:59pm and will be announced in next week’s poll.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. The poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Couper Gatch, Pitcher, Eustis: Junior pitched a complete game, striking out three, to lead the Panthers past Montverde Academy, 2-1. Earlier, he went 2-for-4 with a triple, one run scored and three RBI in a 9-5 victory against Normal University (Ill.).

Erick Telleria, First Baseman/Outfielder, East River: Senior went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI to guide the Falcons past Lake Nona (Orlando), 10-0.

Austin Jacobs, Utility, Hagerty: Went wild for the Huskies, going 4-for-4 with one run scored, two RBI and three stolen bases in a 5-4 victory against crosstown rival Oviedo.

Danny Garcia, Infielder, Bishop Moore: Super sophomore went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI to lead the Hornets past The First Academy (Orlando), 4-2.

Mason Mojica, Catcher, Olympia: Senior went 2-for-4 with two home runs, two runs scored and three RBI to lead the Titans past Cypress Creek (Orlando), 9-5.

Trey Seluk, Utility, The Master’s Academy: Sophomore went 2-for-4 with two runs scored to guide the Eagles past Trinity Christian (Deltona), 4-2.

Jason Perez, Catcher/Pitcher/Outfielder, Oak Ridge: Fantastic freshman went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and three RBI to lift the Pioneers past Circle Christian (Winter Park), 8-2.

Ashton O’Quinn, Pitcher, Lake Brantley: Senior struck out four and allowed just one hit in four innings of relief to pick up the win for the Patriots in a hard-fought 10-inning 1-0 victory against Lake Mary.

Landon Towns, Utility, Lake Highland Prep: Went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI to lead the Highlanders past Windermere Prep, 4-1.

Easton Workman, Infielder/Pitcher, Mount Dora Christian: Senior went 2-for-4 with one run scored and the game-winning RBI to power the Bulldogs past South Fork (Stuart), 5-4.

Maurice Bowman, Outfielder, Lake Brantley: Junior went 3-for-3 with three RBI to lift the Patriots past Horizon (Winter Garden), 14-4.

Zach Wolsonovich, Pitcher, Lake Highland Prep: Struck out five in five innings to pick up the win in a 10-2 victory against Cornerstone Charter (Belle Isle).

Neshawn Taylor, POS, Osceola: Senior went 3-for-4 with one run scored to lead the Kowboys past Mulberry, 11-3.

Collin Law, Pitcher, University High: Struck out five in seven innings to pick up the win in a 4-0 shutout of Ocoee.

Cameron Johansson, Utility, Cornerstone Charter: Talented eighth-grader crushed two doubles, scored three runs, and drove in two runs to lead the Ducks past Evans (Orlando), 18-0.

Alex Climo, Outfielder/Pitcher, Orangewood Christian: Fantastic freshman went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI to power the Rams past Windermere Prep, 10-0.

Rylee Gibson, Pitcher/First Baseman, Foundation Academy: Talented junior went 2-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI for the Lions in a 6-1 win against Horizon (Winter Garden).

Zach Walker, Outfielder, Timber Creek: Star senior went 3-for-4 with a double and one run scored to lead the Wolves past Owasso (Okla.), 5-3.

Devon Crown, Shortstop/Pitcher, Spruce Creek: Junior pitched a complete-game shutout, striking out three, over six innings to lead the Hawks past DeLand, 10-0.

Mason Draper, Pitcher, Deltona: Sophomore lefty pitched six innings, allowing two runs on five hits, while striking out nine, to lead the Wolves past St. Augustine Menendez, 8-2.

Kenny Capria, Pitcher, Pine Ridge: Junior pitched seven innings, allowing two runs on six hits, while striking out five to guide the Panthers past Father Lopez (Daytona Beach), 3-2.

Micah Sanders, Outfielder/Pitcher, Seabreeze: Junior pitched a two-hit shutout over six innings, striking out 10, to lead the Sandcrabs past Matanzas (Palm Coast), 7-1.

Clayton Cooksey, Pitcher/Third Baseman/Shortstop, Rockledge: Senior pitched a three-hit shutout through five innings, striking out five, to lead the Raiders past Melbourne, 3-0.

Brandon Reiter, Utility, Satellite: Junior went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, three runs scored and two RBI to lead the Scorpions past Rutherford (Panama City), 14-0.

Collin O’Connell, Utility, Melbourne Central Catholic: Freshman went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI to spark the Hustlers past Bayside (Palm Bay), 5-0.

Dylan Jordan, Pitcher, Viera: The 6-foot-3 senior right-hander struck out 11 in six innings, while giving up three runs, one earned, on three hits, to lead the Hawks past New Smyrna Beach, 9-3.

Finley Holmes, Outfielder, Vero Beach: Senior went 2-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI to lead the Indians past Seminole Ridge (Loxahatchee), 4-0.

Thomas Villars, Outfielder/First Baseman/Pitcher, Sebastian River: Junior went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI to lead the Sharks past Central (Fort Pierce), 7-6.
