Vote: Who should be SBLive’s Central Florida Softball Player of the Week (3/19/2024)

We’ve selected 25 candidates for your voting consideration

Central Florida high school softball players are showing they can compete with the best of them this season, and the numbers prove it.

We looked at teams from multiple counties and nominated 25 athletes for the SBLive Central Florida Softball Player of the Week for March 11-16, 2024.

We ask you, the fan, to decide who should the top player selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 24, at 11:59pm and will be announced in next week’s poll.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. The poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Mikayla Medina-Flood, Outfielder/Utility, City of Life Christian: Junior went 2-for-3 with a double, home run, two runs scored and two RBI to lead the Warriors past Warner Christian Academy (South Daytona), 10-0.

Avery Helms, Utility, Spruce Creek: Went 2-for-3 with a double, home run, one run scored and four RBI to lead the Hawks past DeLand, 8-5.

Ciara Maple, Utility, Eustis: Went 3-for-3 with a double, triple and four runs scored to push the Panthers past Key West, 9-2.

Addison Pertler, Catcher, University High: Junior went 2-for-4 with one RBI to lead the Titans past Matanzas, 3-2.

Sabrina Boyer, Utility, Windermere High: Sabrina Boyer went 4-for-5 with two doubles, home run, two runs scored and six RBI to lead the Wolverines past Boone (Orlando), 14-3.

Auriana Turner, Outfielder, Lake Brantley: Sophomore went wild for the Patriots, going 4-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and two RBI in a 9-7 win against Lyman (Longwood).

Lindsey Allen, Pitcher, Winter Park: Super sophomore pitched a no-hitter over two innings, striking out four, to get the win in a 15-0 victory against University High (Orlando). Earlier, she pitched a complete game and had an RBI in a 2-1 victory against Ocoee.

Rachel Matthiesen, Pitcher/First Baseman, Hagerty: Senior ripped two hits, including a double, and struck out five in six shutout innings to pick up the win in a 3-2 victory against crosstown rival Oviedo.

Shae Steenbergh, Utility, Lake Highland Prep: Senior went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBI to lead the Highlanders past Windermere Prep, 18-1, in a battle of Orlando private schools.

Berit Acker, Pitcher, Lake Nona: Freshman phenom pitched 6 1/3 innings, striking out 10, to get the win in a 10-2 victory against East River (Orlando).

Kennedy McQuillan, Utility, Lake Nona: Senior went 3-for-4 with two home runs, two runs scored and four RBI to lift the Lions past East River (Orlando), 10-2.

Addison Prewitt, First Baseman/Third Baseman/Shortstop, The Master’s Academy: Super sophomore went 4-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored, and one RBI to guide the Eagles past Orangewood Christian School (Maitland), 8-5.

Tiffany Seeman, Pitcher, Winter Springs: Pitched a three-hitter through five innings, and went 2-for-3 with a walk and one RBI to propel the Bears past Lake Mary, 12-2.

McKenna Hawley, Pitcher, Trinity Prep: Sensational sophomore turned in another stellar game for the Saints, striking out 20 in a 6-0 complete-game shutout against Orangewood Christian (Maitland).

Jamison Townsend, Utility, Oviedo: Senior turned in a super performance, going 3-for-4 with two home runs, two runs scored and six RBI to lead the Lions past West Orange (Winter Garden), 15-11.

Jenna KIein, Utility, Timber Creek: Went 2-for-3 with a double, one run scored and one RBI in a 5-3 victory against East Ridge (Clermont).

Amaris Lozado, Catcher/Second Baseman, Cypress Creek: Sophomore went 4-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and four RBI to lead the Bears past Evans (Orlando), 22-4.

Lila Hernandez, Utility, Horizon: Sophomore went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and six RBI to guide the Hawks past Colonial (Orlando), 13-0.

Christina Ortiz, Pitcher/First Baseman, Deltona: Senior hurled a four-inning shutout, allowing just three hits, to help the Wolves beat Apopka, 4-0.

Brianne Yocum, Utility, DeLand: Went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, two runs scored, and two RBI to push the Bulldogs past Mainland (Daytona Beach), 9-2.

Jasmine Francik, Pitcher/Utility, Melbourne: The star senior and FSU commit went 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI to lead the Bulldogs past Heritage (Palm Bay), 12-0. Earlier, she fanned an incredible 22 batters and allowed just one hit in a 1-0 eight-inning victory against Spruce Creek (Port Orange) in a battle of Central Florida powers.

Daphne Aravena, Utility, Rockledge: Senior went 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored to lead the Raiders past rival Cocoa, 13-1, in 4 ½ innings.

Sarah Langlie, Catcher, Eau Gallie: Senior went 3-for-4 with two runs scored to lead the Commodores past Satellite (Beach), 9-0.

Riley Biggers, Shortstop/Third Base/Utility, Sebastian River: Sophomore went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI to propel the Sharks past Rockledge, 4-3.

Gabrielle Espich, Pitcher/Utility, Vero Beach: Super sophomore went 4-for-5 with two doubles, triple, four runs scored and two RBI, and struck out eight to pick up the win to power the Indians past Central (Fort Pierce), 16-3.
