Congratulations to Alhambra High School quarterback Noah Rodriguez for being voted Scorebook Live's Southern California football player of the week!

Rodriguez passed for 346 yards and six touchdowns and rushed for 124 yards and another TD in Alhambra's 55-48 win over Montebello on Oct. 11.

Rodriguez received 32.2% of the vote, beating out Rowland RB Tye Coleman who finished with 30%.

Here are the other athletes who were nominated for Oct. 7-13:

Tyler Buchner, Bishop's QB: Buchner accounted for seven touchdowns in a 60-14 rout of non-league rival La Jolla Country Day. A Notre Dame commit, Buchner threw five touchdown passes and ran for two more in only three quarters of action. He finished 26-of-31 for 300 yards.

Xavier Harris, Oxnard RB: Harris had nearly 200 all-purpose yards – including 85 yards rushing and an 85-yard kickoff return TD — to lead Oxnard to a 36-27 Pacific View League victory over Pacifica.

Tye Coleman, Rowland RB: Coleman rushed for 318 yards and 5 touchdowns in a 41-20 win over Covina.

Austin Hogan, San Juan Hills RB: Hogan carried the ball 24 times for 122 yards and two touchdowns in San Juan Hills’ 35-7 Sea View League win over Aliso Niguel on Friday.

Jo'vahn Young, Mar Vista RB/DB: Young had more than 100 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns on offense, plus three solo tackles and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown on defense in Mar Vista's 35-12 win over Southwest.

Benjo O’Brien, Lincoln WR: O’Brien had nearly 300 all-purpose yards in Lincoln’s 48-31 loss to No. 12 St. Augustine. O’Brien had nine receptions for 185 yards and two TDs and over 100 kick and punt return yards.

John Humphreys, Corona del Mar WR: With QB Ethan Garbers throwing darts, Humphreys hauled in nine receptions for 153 yards and three touchdowns in Corona del Mar’s 42-7 victory over Edison.

Ryan Pettway, Wilson (Long Beach) QB: Pettway threw for 278 yards and five touchdowns in Wilson's 46-12 win over Jordan.

Matthew Castillo, Patrick Henry QB: Castillo was 22 of 30 for 447 yards and 8 touchdowns in the Patriots win over Kearny.

Colby Rafail, Vista DB: Rafail intercepted two passes in Vista's 27-20 win over Del Norte.

Tristan Shafer, Point Loma WR: Shafer caught two touchdown passes in Point Loma's 61-29 win over University City.

Malachi McCullough, San Diego LB: McCullough returned from an injury to snag his first interception of the season and lead San Diego's defense to an 18-0 shutout victory over Mission Bay.

Armando Guardado, Marquez RB: Guardado made the most of his two carries, racking up 125 yards and two TDs in the Gladiators 61-6 win over Belmont.

Zevi Eckhaus, Culver City QB: Eckhaus had three passing touchdowns, a rushing touchdown, and 404 total yards (338 passing) in Culver City’s 32-27 win over Lawndale.

Josh Ward, San Pedro RB: San Pedro senior running back Josh Ward rushed for three touchdowns and caught one more in a 41-16 demolition of Marine League rival Banning Friday night. In addition to Ward’s four scores, he made double digit tackles on defense.

Bryce Young, Mater Dei QB: Young continues to torch high school secondaries, completing 28 of 34 passes for 338 yards and four touchdowns in Mater Dei’s 56-11 win over Servite. He also added 77 yards rushing and a TD.

DJ Uiagalelei, St. John Bosco QB: Uiagalelei was unstoppable in St. John Bosco’s 49-10 win over JSerra. The Clemson commit completed 14 of 21 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns, and added eight carries for 110 yards and three more touchdowns. In seven games he has thrown 24 TD passes and just one interception.

Julien Stokes, Grace Brethren ATH/DB: A junior who can play multiple positions on offense, Stokes had a huge impact in Grace Brethren’s 56-14 win over Moorpark. Stokes carried the ball 14 times for 171 yards, caught three passes for 48 yards and scored five touchdowns. He also picked off a pass on defense.

Kai Jessie, Patrick Henry WR: Jessie had 9 receptions for 158 yards and 4 touchdowns in Patrick Henry's win over Kearny.

Damien Moore, Bishop Amat RB: Moore continued to make his case for Mission League MVP Saturday night in Bishop Amat’s 31-21 home win over Chaminade. The senior rushed for 214 yards and three touchdowns.

Ethan Garbers, Corona del Mar QB: Garbers completed 20 of 29 passes for 279 yards and 4 TDs, and added another TD on the ground in the Sea King's 42-7 win over Edison.
