Watch: WIAA executive director Mick Hoffman announces 2019 state football championship locations

RENTON — The WIAA executive board unanimously approved the move of December's 2019 Washington high school football state championship games to three outdoor stadiums in Pierce County on Monday afternoon.

Three doubleheaders will take place on Dec. 7 at noon and 4 p.m.: 1B and 4A at Mount Tahoma Stadium in Tacoma, 1A and 2B at Harry Lang Stadium in Lakewood and 2A and 3A at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup.

It will be the first time in 42 years the event has not been held indoors.
