Here’s a look at how Scorebook Live’s Top 25 California high school football teams fared in games played Sept. 26-28.

1. Mater Dei (5-0) beat St. John's (Washington DC) 53-24

A few days after committing to Alabama, Bryce Young gave Crimson Tide fans a glimpse of his immense talent, completing 26-of-37 passes for 416 yards and 5 TDs.

2. St. John Bosco (5-0) bye week

The Braves spent the week preparing for their Trinity League opener against No. 15 Servite.

3. De La Salle (5-1) beat St. Mary's 55-17

The Spartans ran away from St. Mary's in the second half. Now they face their final regular season road game of the season at Monte Vista.

4. Mission Viejo (6-0) beat No. 22 Upland 38-3

One of the best defenses in the state had another dominant performance. The Diablos have allowed 40 points in six games.

5. Helix (4-1) beat Oaks Christian 42-17

The Highlanders dominated the San Diego vs. Southern Section matchup as Elelyon Noa rushed for 276 yards and 4 TDs.

6. Cathedral Catholic (5-1) beat Otay Ranch 63-0

QB DJ Ralph threw two TD passes and ran for another and Zavien Watson added a pair of TD runs as the Dons rolled.

7. Corona Centennial (3-2) bye week

With five regular season games left it doesn't look like the Huskies will be challenged again until the playoffs.

8. JSerra (4-1) bye week

The Lions begin Trinity League play next week at home against Santa Margarita.

9. Grace Brethren (5-0) beat Westlake 49-35

The Lancers couldn't stop Westlake QB Marco Siderman (434 yards, 5 TDs), but Westlake had no answer for RB Josh Henderson who rumbled for 273 yards and five TDs.

10. Narbonne (5-1) beat Lawndale 28-0

Alonso Person -- a sack, an interception and a fumble recovery TD -- spearheaded a dominant defensive effort by the Gauchos.

11. Folsom (4-1) beat Menlo-Atherton 49-0

QB Jake Reithmeier threw two TD passes and rushed for two -- all in the first half -- as the Bulldogs cruised past the Bears.

12. St. Augustine (4-1) bye week

The Saints travel to Morse (4-1) next week.

13. Norco (4-1) lost to Rancho Verde 63-35

Jordan Jefferson scored five TDs as Rancho Verde knocked Norco from the ranks of the unbeaten and dealt its Division 1 playoff hopes a significant blow.

14. Serra Gardena (4-1) beat Cathedral 13-7

Chad Johnson Jr. had eight catches for 132 yards, but Cathedral's upset bid fell just short.

15. Servite (4-1) beat No. 20 Notre Dame Sherman Oaks 16-13

Mason Graham sacked Notre Dame QB Zachary Siskowic twice on the Knights' final offensive possession to seal the win for the Friars. 

16. Corona del Mar (5-0) beat San Clemente 42-21

Corona del Mar QB Ethan Garbers tossed four touchdown passes and wide receiver John Humphreys hauled in three of them.

17. Calabasas (4-2) beat Valencia 35-7

RB Jaylen Thompson had 23 carries for 144 yards to lead Calabasas to a bounce-back victory.

18. Sierra Canyon (5-1) beat Bakersfield 31-10

QB Chayden Perry threw for 192 yards and two TDs as the Trailblazers won their third consecutive game.

19. Central (Fresno) (5-0) bye week

QB Jameson Silva and the Grizzlies spent the week preparing for Buchanan.

20. Notre Dame Sherman Oaks (4-1) lost to No. 15 Servite 16-13

Sean Guyton had a terrific all-around game for Notre Dame, but the Knights were stymied by Servite's defense.

21. La Habra (3-2) bye week

La Habra survived the toughest part of its 2019 schedule. The Highlanders have a great shot to run the table.

22. Upland (3-2) lost to Mission Viejo 38-3

The Flowe brothers flew around on defense, but Upland's offense couldn't get anything going against the Diablos.

23. Alemany (5-0) bye week

Casey Clausen's team will begin Mission League play against Bishop Amat (4-1), one of the games of the week in the Southern Section.

24. Liberty (Brentwood) (6-0) beat Freedom 44-14

The Lions' lone remaining test will come against Pittsburg on Oct. 18.

25. Serra (San Mateo) (4-0) beat Archbishop Riordan 41-0

QB Daylin McLemore had three rushing TDs and Serra will keep the Baxter Trophy for another year.
