El Camino has a long bus ride ahead.

Every week during the 2019 football season, Scorebook Live California reporter Bodie De Silva highlights the top performers and the most intriguing storylines in San Diego Section high school football.

Notable Results

After winning their first CIF title since the ’93 season, La Jolla HS continued their unexpected run into the CIF Division 4-A SoCal Championship. The Vikings trailed 14-7 early before evening up things at the half. The Vikings kept up their strong play in the second half by shutting out Marina en route to a 27-14 victory. La Jolla now has a seven-hour drive ahead as they will bus up to Escalon HS for a state championship on Saturday.

El Camino was able to carry over their second half performance against Bishop’s to dominate their CIF Division 3-AA So Cal Championship game against visiting Temecula Valley. The Wildcats led 34-3 heading into the fourth quarter, allowing some of their younger players to get experience as they took down the Golden Bears, 34-18. Much like La Jolla, El Camino has a long bus ride ahead as they will take Cardinal Newman HS for a state championship in Santa Rosa on Saturday.
