Every week during the 2020 football season, SBLive Arkansas will rank the top high school football teams in every classification.

Here are the 5A rankings as compiled by SBLive reporters Connor Morrissette and Lance Smith.

1. Pulaski Academy (3-0)

It's the last thing anyone else in 5A wants to hear, but is Pulaski Academy more dangerous than ever? The Bruins' 31-20 victory over Virginia powerhouse Life Christian Academy, which features more than 10 Power 5 prospects, might have been their most impressive yet. And Pulaski Academy is the reigning 5A champion. The Bruins will start league play this week against another unbeaten squad, Watson Chapel.

2. Maumelle (2-1)

The Hornets are 2-1 and are coming off a bye week. Now it's time for them to start the 5A Central gauntlet against No. 3 Little Rock Christian Academy.

3. Little Rock Christian Academy (2-1)

After good wins over Searcy and LR Central, a three-point loss to Magnolia last week took a little bit of wind out of LRCA's sails entering league play. It's good that the Warriors have had time to regroup as they'll face No. 2 Maumelle on the road this week in a potential playoff preview.

4. Wynne (3-0)

Wynne is coming off a well-deserved rest after a 3-0 start. The Yellowjackets have a solid chance of making it 4-0 this week against Brookland.

5. Magnolia (3-1)

After stunning LRCA two weeks ago, the Panthers pulled out another close victory over El Dorado last week. This week they'll face a worthy adversary in Texarkana.
