Alabama high school football bracket updates, 2020 playoff scores: Results from every AHSAA classification
The 2020 Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) football playoffs kicked off Friday, Nov. 6 with first-round matchups across the state.
Thompson, ranked No. 13 in SBLive’s Power 25 national football rankings, beat Grissom 49-7 in the first round of the 7A playoffs. Thompson will face Hewitt-Trussville next week in the quarterfinals.
Hoover also advanced in the 7A playoffs with a 49-14 win over Sparkman. They are on a collision course with Thompson for a potential semifinals showdown.
In the 6A state playoffs, Helena edged Carver 22-19 and Lee beat Pelham 23-21 in the two closest matchups of the opening round.
