Georgia's top high school baseball players: Meet the state’s best left fielders

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be taking a look at some of the top baseball players in Georgia.

We started with the top catchers, then first basemen, second basemen, shortstops and third basemen. Now we're on to the outfield, starting with the left fielders.

Note: Many high school baseball players excel at multiple positions. Don't be alarmed to see a starting center fielder or ace pitcher listed here as a left fielder, for example.

Jaden Anderson, Sr., Mt. Pisgah

Another member of Georgia State's impressive signing class, the 5-10, 195-pound senior can play any of the three outfield positions and has been a force at the plate for the Patriots this spring. Anderson has also contributed on the mound as a left-handed pitcher.

Braxton Brooks, Jr., Walnut Grove

A multi-talented outfielder with a power bat, the 6-1, 200-pound junior leads the Warriors in home runs (3) and RBIs (17) and is second on the team with a 1.028 OPS through the team's first 18 games. Also has been solid in the outfield with only one error and a .963 fielding percentage.

Parker Brosius, Sr., Lambert

The 6-2, 180-pound senior projects as a center fielder at the next level, but has the tools, especially blazing speed and a powerful left-handed throwing arm, to play anywhere in the outfield. Brosius is part of Georgia Tech's star-studded 2022 recruiting class.

Dawson Campbell, Sr., Pope

The 5-10, 180-pound senior has wowed scouts with his versatile outfield skills, speed and strong and accurate throwing arm, which he also uses on the mound from the left side. However, what has impressed them most about the Lander University commit is his hard-nosed, “bulldog”-like approach to the game.

Robert Clarke, Sr., Westminster

The 6-2, 200-pound senior is known as a big hitter as a safety on the football field and as an outfielder and a third baseman on the baseball diamond.

Reco Coney, Jr., Metter

Another player who projects as a center fielder but can play any outfield position, the 5-9, 180-pound junior has been bashing the ball of late, with three homers in his last four games for the defending Class A Public state champs.

Brendan Conway, Jr., Morgan County

The 6-0, 165-pound junior has moved around a lot the past couple of years in the infield and outfield, as well as on the mound. He should be an even bigger force for the Bulldogs as he settles in and continues to mature physically.

Cooper Davidson, Jr., Fellowship Christian

The 6-0, 170-pound junior has been making things happen for the Paladins throughout their 15-0 start to the 2022 campaign. A first-team preseason Class A Private all-state selection, Davidson has been particularly dangerous with his legs with a .390 average, eight stolen bases and 24 runs scored. The latter number is tied for the team lead.

Garrett Garner, Jr., Franklin County

The 6-3, 180-pound junior not only has personal credentials after a strong sophomore season in 2021, he is also playing with a little more hunger this spring along with his Lions teammates after they finished as Class 3A runner-up last year. Garner is committed to play college ball at Western Carolina.

B.J. Gibson, Soph., Wilcox County

Speedy and very athletic, the 6-0, 170-pound sophomore can play any outfield position, and is a big-time prospect in two sports. He is already committed to play baseball at Tennessee, but football programs at Power Five schools like Georgia, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Arkansas and Texas A&M are trying to change his mind.

Ford Hallock, Sr., Greater Atlanta Christian

An All-Gwinnett County and Class 3A all-state selection from last year by hitting .393 with two homers, 28 RBIs, 16 doubles, 44 runs scored, 13 steals and a .542 on-base percentage, the 6-1, 175-pound senior has lived up to high expectations so far this spring.

Zach Harris, Sr., Cambridge

The 6-1, 185-pound senior is probably best known for his strong work on the mound as a right-handed pitcher, but don't sleep on his production at his secondary position in the outfield. Harris has signed to play collegiately at Georgia Southern.

Ben Hollerbach, Sr., Benedictine

The 6-0, 175-pound senior is another player who is hard to pin down at a single position, or even sport, since he was also a stalwart in the secondary for the Cadets' football team last fall. He's played some at third base in recent days but has been primarily an outfielder, and he has produced no matter where he's played.

Adam Lane, Sr., Thomas County Central

Coming off a season in which he earned Region 1-4A Player of the Year honors, the 5-9, 170-pound senior is picking up where he left off last year at the plate and on the mound for the Yellow Jackets.

John Wise Long, Sr., Glynn Academy

After having his 2020 season cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic and being plagued by injuries last year, the 6-0, 180-pound senior is back strong in the Red Terrors lineup this spring. He has signed to play college ball in the ACC at North Carolina.

Landen Loyd, Sr., Pepperell

The 6-1, 185-pound senior has been a force on the mound for the Dragons this spring, but has been just as productive in the outfield and at the plate, where his power stroke is starting to pick up as the 2022 campaign progresses. He is set to play college baseball at Georgia Highlands College.

Cooper Milford, Jr., Blessed Trinity

Though the 6-0, 160-pound junior still has some growing to do physically, there is nothing small about his game. The speedy Milford is a catalyst on the base paths, as well as in the outfield and at the plate, and is already committed to play collegiately at Georgia.

Jake Streeter, Sr., North Springs

The 6-1, 193-pound senior shows plenty of ability covering ground and with a powerful throwing arm in the outfield. The Kennesaw State signee got off to a huge start to his final high school season this spring, with a team-best .538 average, four homers, 10 doubles and 1.906 OPS, plus 12 RBIs, through the Spartans' first 11 games.

Reece Tanner, Jr., Cedartown

Another two-sport and multi-position athlete, the 6-1, 170-pound junior finds a way to make things happen for the Bulldogs, the defending champs in Region 7-4A. He also plays quarterback for the Cedartown football team.

Jae Williams, Sr., Pace Academy

The 6-0, 190-pound senior is one of many playmakers in the Knights' aggressive batting order, but is an important one. The Alabama Birmingham signee is among the team leaders with a .345 average, three homers, 24 RBIs, 25 runs scored, a 1.068 OPS, 19 stolen bases and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
