Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Georgia high school athlete of the week for April 25-May 1. Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Ethan Ashley, Denmark track and field

Ashley won the 1,600 meters at the Region 6-7A championships with the fastest time in the state this season, 4:11.10.

Gavin Black, North Oconee baseball

North Oconee swept Mays, and Black was one of the many bats in full swing with a homer and four RBIs.

Beau Brailey, Mill Creek baseball

Brailey threw his eighth complete game of his career in his first playoff start. He allowed only one run while striking out 10 batters.

Ryan Ford, Winder-Barrow baseball

Ford was red-hot at the plate in the first round of the playoffs. He went 4-for-4 and was a triple away from the cycle.

Mairin Halama, Mill Creek soccer

The goalkeeper had to leave in the first half against Walton, but she returned to stop the decisive penalty in the shootout to send Mill Creek to the state championship game. 

Colin Houck, Parkview baseball

Houck went wild at the plate in Parkview’s first-round matchup versus McEachern. He went 4-for-5 with two homers and six RBIs.

Caleb Hughes, Etowah baseball

Hughes pitched six innings and struck out 10 batters to close out Norcross in the first round.

Jordan Kaliq, Metter baseball

Kaliq hit a walk-off grand slam versus Pelham in a mercy-rule Game 1 win for Metter.

Ines Obradovac, River Ridge soccer

Obradovac scored a hat trick in River Ridge's 4-2 quarterfinal win at Richmond Hill, giving the Virginia Tech signee six goals during her team's playoff run.

Tyshon Patty, Mountain View baseball

Patty delivered the walk-off hit to send Mountain View to the second round.

Cullen Riel, Druid Hills baseball

Riel was spectacular on both sides, pitching six innings with 10 strikeouts and going 3-for-3 at the plate.

Damola Salami, Greater Atlanta Christian soccer

The South Carolina signee scored two goals in Greater Atlanta Christian's 3-1 win over West Hall to send his Spartans to the 3A championship game against Oconee County.

Josh Sibley, East Coweta baseball

Sibley was on his A game on the mound versus Grayson. He went six innings with no runs allowed and 14 strikeouts.

Ethan Sutton, Allatoona baseball

Sutton closed out Game 2 and the series for Allatoona against Lanier. He threw six shutout innings with nine strikeouts and allowed only two hits.

Jessicka Woods, Maynard Jackson track and field

Woods won the 300-meter hurdles at the Region 6-5A championships with a 42.21, the fastest time in the state this season.
