Marietta, Ga. native Ava Besson has been named a 2022 Under Armour Girls Lacrosse All-American and will play in the Under Armour All-American game on July 30th in Baltimore at Johns Hopkins University’s legendary Homewood Field.

Besson, who played for George Walton Comprehensive High School, was a four-year starter for the Raiders and has committed to play at Boston College, which won the 2021 NCAA Women’s Division I National Championship and played in the 2022 title game last weekend, falling one goal short of a second straight crown in a 12-11 loss to North Carolina.

A left-handed attacker, who also played for the Eagle Stix Club, Besson played in the 2019 Brogden Cup as a member of the US U15 National Team and has played in two previous Under Armour Underclassmen tournaments.

Inside Lacrosse has rated Besson as the fourth overall player in the Class of 2022 and the second best attacker.

The Under Armour Girls All-American game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on July 30th and will be broadcasted live to a national audience on ESPNU.
