CJ Clinkscales is chosen by fans as SBLive Georgia's multi-sport boys athlete of the year

The recent Buford graduate will be playing football for Boston College in 2022-23.

When it comes to covering receivers as a defensive back, hitting the hole as a running back and getting air in the long jump, CJ Clinkscales has mad skills.

The multi-sport star is also popular with the fans, as the recent Buford graduate won his third SBLive Georgia poll of the 2021-22 sports season, being named multi-sport boys athlete of the year.

He earned 46,843 votes, beating out Pebblebrook's Dwight Phillips Jr. (20,061 votes) and Mountain View's Armond Jones (16,327).

Clinkscales also was the fans' choice as MVP of the Georgia high school football playoffs and as the top defensive back in Georgia high school football.

Here's David Friedlander's write-up on Clinkscales in our list of the best multi-sport boys athletes of 2021-22 in Georgia:

CJ Clinkscales, Football/Track and Field, Buford

Yet another football/track standout at Buford who had a huge season in 2021-22. He was a first-team All-Gwinnett County and honorable mention All-State in Class 6A after piling up 904 yards of total offense and eight touchdowns in helping the Wolves to the state championship, and earned a scholarship to play college ball at Boston College. Then in the spring, Clinkscales contributed to Buford's sixth-place team finish by placing sixth in the long jump.
