Week 10 was full of surprises, including three huge upsets. Northside stormed back to stun Lee County, Newton handed Parkview a loss and Camden County knocked off Valdosta in a wild night. Check out how some of the state’s best teams fared Friday night.

Northside 23, Lee County 20: In what was easily the game of the night, Northside stormed back from a 20-point fourth-quarter deficit to stun Lee County 23-20. Quarterback Don Hudson threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter and a 40-yard scoop-and-score defensive touchdown by Ja’Marian Lawson in the closing seconds completed the improbable comeback.

Mill Creek 54, Collins Hill 0: The Hawks took their frustrations out on the defending state champs Friday night and scored 44 points in the first half to run away with a 54-0 blowout victory. The Hawks scored touchdowns in all three phases in the win.

Lambert 39, Denmark 31: The Longhorns faced a 9-point deficit at halftime, but a strong second half kept their undefeated season alive with a 39-31 win over Denmark Friday night. Longhorns quarterback James Tyre scored four touchdowns on the night to lead the way.

Grayson 41, Brookwood 14: The Broncos trailed the Rams by just seven points midway through the third quarter, but it was host Grayson that took control of the final 18 minutes to pull away with a 41-14 win. Running back Joe Taylor scored four touchdowns for the Rams in the victory.

Camden County 17, Valdosta 14: Entering the game as heavy underdogs, Camden County cracked a stout Valdosta defense and pulled off a 17-14 upset to end their undefeated season. Gabe Caison booted a 32-yard game-winning field goal early in the fourth quarter.

Walton 41, Cherokee 3: The Raiders made quick work of Cherokee Friday night, winning the game 41-3. Quarterback Jeremy Hecklinski tossed four touchdown passes in the win and also got two rushing touchdowns.

Carrollton 28, Westlake 19: Trojans quarterback Julian Lewis threw a pick six to start the game, but he was money from there. He quickly knotted the game with a 40-yard score and the Trojans never looked back en route to a 28-19 win. Bryce Hicks scored two rushing touchdowns on the night, including the final score of the game late in the third quarter.

Hughes 41, Newnan 0: Nationally ranked Hughes made quick work of Newnan Friday night en route to a 41-0 shutout victory. Quarterback Air Noland tossed two touchdown passes in the victory and they did the rest of their scoring on the ground to remain unbeaten on the season.

Newton 20, Parkview 18: The Rams very nearly let a 17-point fourth-quarter lead disappear, only to hold on and win 20-18 after stopping a 2-point conversion attempt by the Panthers with five seconds remaining in the game. The Rams used trick plays, including two passing touchdowns from wide receiver Marcus Calwise to stun Parkview on its home field.

North Paulding 14, McEachern 7: Two touchdown scores in the second quarter was all North Paulding needed to hand McEachern a 14-7 loss Friday night. They took their 14-0 lead into the fourth quarter before McEachern cut the lead in half. They later fumbled away a chance to tie the game on their final drive of the night.
