This week's Top 10 baseball games to watch in Georgia

It's baseball season in Georgia and each week we will preview the Top 10 games to watch throughout the state.

Play ball!

10. Mill Creek (1-1) @ Winder-Barrow (1-3) Tuesday 5:30 p.m.

Winder-Barrow will look to get its revenge after being shutout in an earlier match-up. Mill Creek's Hunter Pirkle was on the mound in that last game and had a perfect five innings with seven strikeouts, leaving Winder-Barrow's batters clueless. There is a chance Pirkle may take the mound in this again in this one, but it is tough to see this Winder-Barrow lineup getting shutout multiple times. The Bulldogs have yet to find their footing thus far and will hope this is the game to spark a run like what they had to end last year's regular season

9. Centennial (3-1) @ Brookwood (3-1) Wednesday 6 p.m.

Brookwood will host Centennial after coming off a big, 6-0, victory over Glynn Academy. Centennial will have to deal with the Broncos and their hot bats, but they have some big sticks of their own. Both teams are averaging over eight runs a game while allowing less than three.

8. Etowah (2-1) vs. South Forsyth (3-1) Friday 4 p.m.

South Forsyth will face off against the 6A State runner-up. This is an Etowah team that's stacked with collegiate talent and so is South Forsyth. Etowah will be looking to rebound from a close loss to Cartersville, while South Forsyth is coming off a 10-0 win over Carrollton. The War Eagles will face Dawson County this week before their match-up with Etowah, while Etowah will have its hands full with Lambert and Creekview.

7. Cartersville (2-0) @ Kennesaw Mountain (4-1) Thursday 5:55 p.m.

Cartersville hasn't put up glaring numbers in their box scores, but the wins are still coming, including a huge victory over a top tier opponent in Etowah. That was the Canes' first win over a top-seeded team from a higher classification since 2012, and they are hoping there is more of that to come. Kennesaw Mountain is a 7A school with loads of talent and has three D1 commits already. The Mustangs have been scoring runs in bunches, averaging just over nine runs per game. This will be an interesting match-up, with Cartersville's pitching staff and defense only allowing five runs in two games.

6. Lambert (3-1) @ North Gwinnett (3-1) Friday 5 p.m.

A rematch of last season's early meeting which Lambert won 10-9, Lambert also won the contest the year before. North Gwinnett will look to turn the tide this year, and it has the talent to do so, with four D1 commits already. The Bulldogs are coming off a tough loss to Richmond Hill but have shown how formidable they can be with a hard fought win over Lassiter last week.

5. Allatoona (3-0) vs. Walker (3-0) Saturday 12:30 p.m.

Both teams have had about as good a start to the season as they could have hoped. Allatoona has dominated every opponent thus far with final scores of 19-0, 9-1, and 12-0. The Bucs are looking primed to breeze to another State Championship. Walker has also put up some big time runs in its three games thus far. The Wolverines are averaging 14 runs per game with a season high of 21.. This will be a big match-up for the 2A Wolverines going up against the reigning Champion 6A Buccaneers.

4. Cherokee Bluff (3-0) @ Denmark (3-1) Monday 5:55 p.m.

Cherokee Bluff is one of those teams to look out for this season. For a school whose baseball program has been going for only five years, the Bears have put it together quickly, winning 25 games in its last two years. Now with the help of its senior class, headlined by Georgia Southern commits Braxton Beal and Bryce England and Mississippi State commit Brett House. Denmark does not, however, fear any opposing roster with the talent it has, most notably its top seniors Francesco Capocci (North Carolina commit) and Kyle Henley (Georgia Tech commit).

3. North Atlanta (4-1) @ Pope (4-1) Thursday 5:55 p.m.

North Atlanta will travel to Pope in a top matchup of individual and team talent. North Atlanta boasts one of the best upper classes in the state with its senior duo of Georgia Tech commits in Antonio Anderson (who has been killing the ball as of late) and Isaiah Drake. The reigning 6A State Champions are led by Carson Kerce (Georgia Tech commit), Kent Schidmt (Georgia Southern commit) and a hell of a pitching staff. North Atlanta will have a lot to watch out for but will have to keep a keen eye on Kerce who just recently broke Pope's all time record for career triples.

2.Parkview (0-0) @ Lassiter (2-1) Monday 5:30 p.m.

Parkview will open its season traveling to Lassiter, the 6A state runner-up. It's a new season for both teams, but both are looking to duplicate last regular season's performance and have a little bit more success in the postseason. Parkview can give any team, including Lassiter, a run for its money with talent all-around the diamond. Colin Houck, the Panthers shortstop and highly touted Mississippi State recruit, is a player that can and will make a difference in every game he plays. Lassiter will be looking for revenge from taking a loss in last year's early match-up and this is a good time for the Trojans because they are riding high off big wins over South Effingham and Richmond Hill.

1. Buford (1-1) @ Loganville (1-0) Monday 5 p.m.

The reigning 5A State Champions in Loganville will host one of the best regular season teams of last season in Buford. Even though this is a new season, both teams will always have talented rosters, with Loganivlle not having less than 30 wins in the last six years and Buford not having a season under 20 wins in the last 10 years. Look for Loganville to throw one of its aces in Mason Steele or Noah Smallwood to counter Buford's red-hot offense.
