Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Georgia High School Athlete of the Week for April 24-29 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Voting will conclude on Sunday and the winner will be announced Monday, May 8. Riyon Rankin, Brunswick Track and Field

Rankin became the first high schooler to clear 7-2 in the high jump this season.

Jake Epstein, North Paulding Baseball

Epstein was huge for the Wolfpack in the series sweep over East Coweta. He sent East Coweta packing with his three-run homer game winning homer.

Levi Clark, Walton Baseball

Walton swept Buford with big help from Clark who went 3-for-5 in the series with two home runs, three walks, and four RBIs.

Marquise Blackman, Dacula Baseball

Dacula beat Denmark 8-0 to advance to the Elite Eight and Blackman had two hits, both doubles and scored two runs.

Carson Kerce, Pope Baseball

With his stolen base against Woodstock, Kerce became Pope’s all time stolen base leader with 44 career stolen bases.

Garrett Lambert, Parkview Baseball

Lambert went 3-for-3 in the blowout win over Richmond Hill. He ended with two doubles, a home run and totaled five RBI’s.

JD Rediger, River Ridge Baseball

Rediger went the distance to hold off Lassiter and complete the sweep. He went seven innings, only allowing four hits and struck out 11 batters.

Garrett Milbourn, River Ridge Baseball

Milbourn was phenomenal in game one of the sweet 16 series versus Lassiter. He went seven innings, with seven strikeouts and didn’t allow a single run.

Oluwatosin Awoleye, South Cobb Track and Field

Awoleye has yet again reset her PR and the current fastest time in the state as she ran a 2:07.43 in the 800m to win the GHSA 6A-Region 4 Championship meet.

Alisa Gordon, Alexander Track and Field

Gordon set a new PR, school record, and 2023 state record in the triple jump. She jumped a 41’5.75 to win the GHSA 6A-Region 5 Championship meet.

Olivia Powell, Woodward Academy Track and Field

Powell set a new PR, school record and 2023 state record with a time of 13.62 in the 100m Hurdles to win the GHSA 6A-Region 3 Championship meet.

Ashley Kutter, Pinecrest Academy Soccer

Kutter had eight saves on goal in the playoff matchup versus King’s Academy to hold the Knights scoreless and help her team advance.

Alex Fallon, Westminster Soccer

Fallon scored two of Westminster’s three goals to extend the win streak to 11 games and advance in the playoffs.

Triniti Cassidy, Brookwood Lacrosse

Cassidy scored seven goals and assisted on two others in the opening round of the playoffs.

Emma Linscott, Lakeside Lacrosse

Linscott scored four goals and caused two turnovers versus Lassiter.

Alex Whitecliffe, Cherokee Lacrosse

Whitecliffe scored three goals, assisted on four others, and controlled 11 out of 12 draws in the 20-0 win over Grayson.
