Vote: Who is the best junior baseball player in Georgia in 2024?

Here are 10 candidates for your voting consideration

The high school baseball season is underway in Georgia, which makes it the perfect time to take a look at the best junior players in the state.

There is not shortage of talent and building a list of nominees is difficult, but we've narrowed the list of Best Junior Baseball Players in Georgia to 10 players on whom you can vote.

Voting will end on March 15, 2024 at 11:59.

Here are the nominees:

Ty Peeples, Infield, Franklin County

Peeples is one of the best that the Class of 2025 has to offer. He has a good frame standing at 6-fee-2 and one of his main attributes is his bat. He has a great approach to the plate from the left side, while his patience and ability to read the pitcher and pitch selection makes him elite at the plate. Combine that with some serious pop and those are some scary combinations for opposing pitchers.

Josh Gibbs, Short Stop, Forsyth Central

At 5-feet-11 and 170 pounds, Gibbs packs a punch. On the defensive end, he is fluid in his movements and has good athleticism. He is able to move well going to both sides and has a massive arm, throwing mid-90’s across the diamond. At the plate he has elite hand speed and barrel control which is why the ball has an exit velocity off his bat at triple-digit speeds and high 90’s hitting the opposite direction. Gibbs’ talent was too much for UGA to pass up on. He will be a Bulldog for his collegiate career.

Cannon Goldin, Outfield, Buford

Goldin is an athletic outfielder with good speed, running a 6.58 in the sixty. He also has a good arm with throws up to 93 mph from the outfield. He has a good approach from the left side of the plate and has home run potential to his pull side. Goldin will look to help Buford get back to its championship roots and then will move on up to play at Ole Miss once he graduates.

Eli Pitts, Outfield/Middle Infield, Parkview

Pitts is a top tier talent that has helped Parkview win so many games. He is a great athlete with 6.4 speed which gives him great range. He has a lot of potential at the plate and a ton of raw power. He is still putting it all together which should sound terrifying to opposing pitchers because he is already killing the ball. In a recent game for Parkview, he was 3-for-5 with two bombs versus Lassiter. Pitts is committed to the University of South Carolina.

Maddox Monsour, Middle Infield, Carrollton

Monsour primarily plays shortstop. He has a medium frame standing 5-feet-11 and weighing 185 pounds. He has good speed which helps his range and shows off good glove work. At the plate his bat speed stands out and he is consistent with his contact. Any of his games you go to you are almost guaranteed to see the ball fly off his bat. The Texas Longhorns got themselves a good one with Monsour.

Dayson Griffis, Third Base/Pitcher, Appling County

Griffis has one of the strongest arms in his class, with his fastball getting up to 95 mph and sitting in between 90-92. Watching him on the mound is fun stuff and his curveball that plays off his fastball keeps hitters looking silly. His arm strength also helps throwing lasers across the diamond while he plays third. At the plate he is known to hit some balls out of sight too. Griffis won’t be too far away for college as he is committed to Tennessee.

Terrance Bowen, Middle Infield/Outfield, Alexander

Bowen is coming off of a huge 2023, whether that be at Alexander or during summer ball. His physicality and bat speed were on full display, and he has been hitting the ball all over the yard. He will look to help turn things around at Alexander and after that he will be on his way to Oklahoma State.

William Johnson, Outfield, Oconee County

Johnson has all the tools at the plate, the lefty can hit for power and contact, and is consistent. He can spray the ball around the diamond but has the big-time power potential to his pull side. On the mound his fastball is in the mid-80’s with a good breaking ball in the 70’s. He plays the outfield well too with good range and his arm strength and accuracy are a plus. Johnson is committed to Georgia Tech.

Ethan Adams, Pitcher/Outfield, Alpharetta

Adams stands tall at 6-feet-3, 222 pounds, which looks menacing on the mound. His fastball sits around 88-90 and has topped out at 92, while he mixes in a low 70’s curveball and a high 70’s changeup. He is just as good on the opposite side of things; at the plate he has a wide stance and has a lot of power built up. He has a good swing and makes hard and consistent contact.

Noah Allen, Pitcher, North Oconee

The 6-foot-6 righty is looking better each season. In two seasons with North Oconee, the team has won state championships. He looks to be an integral part of this year’s success and to get the elusive three-peat. Over the last year he has added seven mph to his fastball and has topped out at 92 mph. He also uses a slider and changeup to work off of it. Look for Allen to only further improve during his time with North Oconee and then to be a major standout by the time he graduates and is set to play for UGA.
