National high school top stars, best girls basketball performances of the week (Feb. 6-12)

Here are the best girls performances around the country from Feb. 6-12.

Amani Abuhatab, West Haven (Connecticut)

Abuhatab became West Haven’s all-time leading scorer in a 68-42 victory over Guilford. The senior finished with 24 points, 19 rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Kamalani Anitielu, Farmington (New Mexico)

Anitielu had 35 points, seven assists and five rebounds as Farmington cruised to an 86-60 road win over West Mesa.

Savannah Azoff, Dennis-Yarmouth (Massachusetts)

Azoff collected her first career triple-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a 62-45 win against Barnstable.

Shaye Bailey, Freedom Area (Pennsylvania)

Needing 45 points to reach 1,000 for her career, Bailey scored a school-record 51 in a 73-42 victory over Aliquippa.

Madison Bates, Golden (Colorado)

Bates set a new school record for points in a game with 42 as Golden cruised past Conifer, 69-16. Bates also had 13 rebounds and two steals.

Katelyn Brinkley, Ridgeland (Mississippi)

Brinkley had 27 points and 12 rebounds as Ridgeland captured the Region 3-5A title with a 62-60 win over Neshoba Central.

Eva DeChent, Putnam Valley (New York)

DeChent topped 2,000 points for her high school career and finished with 31 points and seven steals in a 55-27 win against Haldane. Two days later, she had 32 points, 10 rebounds and eight steals in a 57-47 victory over Croton-Harmon. The Rhode Island signee is the 13th girls basketball player in NYSPHSAA Section 1 history to hit the 2,000-point mark.

Gretchen Dolan, Williamsville South (New York)

Dolan went 17 of 22 from the field and finished with 40 points, six rebounds and four assists in an 80-41 victory over Williamsville East. Dolan will play college basketball for Illinois.

Macy Donarski, La Crosse Aquinas (Wisconsin)

Donarski nearly recorded another triple-double in a 69-20 rout of Sparta, finishing with 19 points, 10 assists and six steals. The University of Montana commit is leading the state of Wisconsin in assists at over eight per game.

Haley Hargis, Lebanon (Oregon)

Hargis drained six 3-pointers and netted 28 total points in a 56-34 victory over West Albany.

Lauren Katyryniuk, Naselle (Washington)

Katyryniuk netted a career-best 35 points in an 81-34 win over Three Rivers Christian.

Ari Long, Valley View (California)

Long, one of the most unstoppable players in the country, scored 52 points in her final high school basketball game, an 82-66 postseason loss to Centennial. The Washington-bound senior also had 14 rebounds and four steals in the game.

Nicole Melious, Wagner (New York)

The country’s leading scorer at 43.7 points per game, Melious had a triple-double to close the regular season in a 75-40 victory over New Dorp. The La Salle signee finished with 56 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

Jessie Ozzauto, Huntley (Illinois)

Ozzauto scored 29 points in a 68-39 rout of Burlington and followed up that performance with 31 more in a 51-38 victory over Dundee-Crown. Both totals were new career highs for the senior, who is the seventh player in program history to reach 1,000 career points.

Noelani Raigans, San Pedro (California)

Raigans had 26 points, four assists and four steals as San Pedro downed Roosevelt, 70-48, in a Division II playoff game.

Miriley Simon, West Fargo (North Dakota)

Simon was unstoppable in an 85-52 rout of Fargo North, matching a school record with 39 points while also collecting 19 rebounds and three assists. Simon will play college basketball for North Dakota State.

Tambre Williams, Dakota (Michigan)

Williams tied a school record with 22 rebounds and also had seven points and seven blocked shots in a 66-61 overtime win over Eisenhower. Williams’ sister, Taylor, also had 22 rebounds in a game for Dakota.
