Photos: Fifth-ranked Highland's furious second-half rally stuns reigning 5A champion Rocky Mountain in state quarterfinals
The Rams ended a three-game skid against the Grizzlies, who ended the season with back-to-back losses.
MERIDIAN - It was a shocking way for defending Class 5A champion Rocky Mountain's up-and-down season to end.
The Grizzlies blew an 18-point lead in the second half, and saw their reign end Friday night after No. 5 Highland rallied for a 22-21 victory in the state quarterfinals.
Ian Hershey booted the game-winning 45-yard field for the Rams with 3:25 remaining - set up their defense's fourth-down stop of the Grizzlies in their own territory.
