Lapwai girls basketball G Jordyn McCormack-Marks voted the WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to Lapwai girls basketball guard Jordyn McCormack-Marks for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athlete of the Week for Feb. 14-20!

The sophomore had a game-high 19 points while shooting 57% from the field to go with five rebounds to lead Lapwai to the 11th state title in program history in a 63-37 win over Prairie at the Idaho Class 1A DI State Championship game.

McCormack-Marks received 49.74% of the vote, beating out Skyline's Tailer Thomas who finished second with 23.12%. Skyline's Shay Shippen finished third with 6.54% and Skyline's Mattie Olson finished fourth with 6.11%.

Here are the other athletes who were nominated for the week of Feb. 14-20:

Shay Shippen, Skyline Girls Basketball: The freshman scored 62 points in the state tournament, including 25 points and had 8 rebounds in the 4A state championship loss to Burley. Shippen finished the season with 563 points, the most ever for a freshman in Idaho, and set a new record for points scored in the state tournament by a freshman.

Ashley Banks, Boise Girls Basketball: Banks very nearly anchored the Brave to their first state title since 2005 by averaging 13.3 points and 6.7 boards during the 5A State Tournament.

Ember Farr, Rockland Girls Basketball: Farr recorded a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to their second state title in three years after a 44-26 win over Council in the Idaho Class 1A DII State Championship game.

Hadley Fraas, Cole Valley Christian Girls Basketball: Fraas tallied a game-high 22 points on 75% shooting from the field and eight rebounds in a 58-45 win over Aberdeen in the Idaho Class 2A State Championship game.

Sophie Glancey, Timberline Girls Basketball: Glancey averaged almost a double-double for the 5A State Tournament with 13.7 points and 9.7 rebounds during the Wolves’ run to their first title in 19 years.

Ty Hambly, Highland Boys Basketball (Craigmont): Hambly almost had as many points as St. John Bosco with a 40-point, 14-rebound double-double in the 50-44 district tournament win.

Hailey Harris, Sugar-Salem Girls Basketball: Harris nearly had a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds as the Diggers broke a three-way tie with Moscow and Shelley for the most 3A state titles in Idaho history following a 47-32 win over Teton.

Lyndsie Krogh, Cole Valley Christian Girls Basketball: Krogh racked up a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Chargers to the first state title in program history with a 58-45 win over Aberdeen.

Lauren McCall, Timberline Girls Basketball: McCall came up with a steal and a step-back 3-pointer with 15 seconds remaining to fuel an improbable 36-35 comeback over Boise in the Idaho Class 5A State Championship game.

Tyler Medaris, Middleton Boys Basketball: Medaris posted his first career triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists in a 61-47 win over Emmett in the regular season finale.

Kolton Mitchell, Lake City Boys Basketball: Mitched drained eight 3-points, including six in the second half alone, and scored 18 of his 29 points in the second half in a 77-47 rout of Post Falls at districts.

Mattie Olson, Skyline Girls Basketball: Olson, who tore her ACL before the season, entered the 4A State Championship game against Burley with 15 seconds left and managed to take a few dribbles before getting a 3-pointer off at the buzzer.

Bayler Perrin, Mountain View Boys Basketball: Perrin put up a statline of 18 points, five assists, four rebound and three steals in a 64-31 win over Centennial at districts.

Jackson Rasmussen, Owyhee Boys Basketball: Rasmussen notched 21 points, including an almost full-court heave at the buzzer, in a 70-50 win over Rocky Mountain in the quarterfinals of the district tournament.

Jayden Wright, Highland Boys Basketball (Pocatello): Wright tallied 32 points on 11-of-16 shooting (69%) from the field in a 50-39 win against Thunder Ridge in the district tournament.

Kesler Vaughan Pocatello Boys Basketball: Vaughan forced overtime on a 3-pointer with 39 seconds remaining before sinking the game-winning shot on a putback at the buzzer in a 64-62 district semifinal win over Century.

Amari Whiting, Burley Girls Basketball: The Oregon commit broke her own 4A State Tournament record (82) with 89 points over three days to win her first state title in a 58-43 victory against Skyline.

Tailer Thomas, Skyline Girls Basketball: The senior center was 3-of-3 from downtown and hit two clutch free throws with six seconds left to break No. 1 Blackfoot's 29 game winning streak in the 4A state semifinal game. Tailer had 14 points and unfortunately suffered a knee injury in the final seconds of the game defending Blackfoot's last shot attempt.
