Congratulations to Idaho Falls baseball catcher Mike Christensen for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athlete of the Week for April 11-17!

The senior nearly hit for the cycle, going 3-for-3 with a double and a home run for a pair of RBIs in a 16-6 rout of Madison.

Christensen received 59.61% of the vote, beating out Post Falls' Sophie Nungesser who finished second with 39.76%. There were over 17,000 votes tallied this week!

Here are the other athletes who were nominated for the week of April 11-17:

Gatlin Bair, Kimberly Boys Track and Field: Bair won the triple jump (45 feet, 11.5 inches), the 100-meter (10.54 seconds), and 200-meter sprints where he posted the 23rd fastest time in the nation of 21.19 seconds at the Boise Relays.

Ben Beglinger, Cole Valley Christian Baseball: Beglinger went yard not once, but twice, including a grand slam, for seven RBIs in a 15-3 win over league rival New Plymouth.

Emily Collins, Lewiston Girls Track and Field: Collins took first in the 200 (26.57 seconds) before later doing the same in the 400 (59.19) at the Pasco Invitational.

Nolan Hardesty, Twin Falls Baseball: Hardesty threw seven strikeouts and allowed just four hits in an 8-0 shutout win on the mound against Canyon Ridge.

Landon Helms, Emmett Boys Track and Field: Helms topped the podium of the 110 hurdles (14.02 seconds), the pole vault (15 feet, 7.5 inches) and the long jump (21 feet, 6.5 inches) at the Boise Relays.

Hunter Killian, Pocatello Baseball: Killian gave up just two hits with nine strikeouts in a complete-game 10-2 win over Jerome.

Grady Mylander, Nampa Christian Boys Track and Field: Mylander swept the 800 (1-minute, 58.36 seconds) and the 1,600 runs (4:19.29) at the Boise Relays.

Sophie Nungesser, Post Falls Softball: Nungesser was one out from a perfect game before hitting a batter. She still finished with 12 strikeouts and a one-hitter in an 18-1 win over Sandpoint.

Acacia Pecor, Timberlake Softball: Pecor threw a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and zero walks in a 29-0 shellacking of Priest River.

Wyatt Phillips, Filer Baseball: Phillips tossed a no-hitter with six strikeouts in a 10-1 over Buhl.

Ashlyn Sandow, Timberline Girls Track and Field: Sandow claimed both the long (17 feet, 1.5 inches) and triple jump (36.3) titles at the Boise Relays.

Logan Smith, Boise Girls Track and Field: Smith set a new personal record and now owns the state’s top time in the 400 on her way to winning the event in 56.15 seconds at the Boise Relays.

Brandon Stewart, Eagle Boys Track and Field: Stewart shattered his own personal record and now has the state’s best discus mark at 170.9 feet with his throw and win at the Boise Relays.

Elizabeth Michaelson, North Gem Girls Track and Field: Michaelson recorded a new personal record with a throw of 111'5" in the discus last week - beating her throw that secured her 2nd place at state last year.
