How the SBLive Power 10 Idaho high school football teams fared in Week 6: Rigby still king of southeastern region

Trojans use timely second-quarter touchdowns, and opportunistic defense to shut out Class 4A champion Skyline, 28-0

Each week, SBLive will rank the top 10 teams across the state of Idaho, regardless of classification. Here’s a look at how those teams fared in games played in Week 6 of the 2022 high school football season.

HOW THE TOP 10 FARED — SEPT. 30

1. ROCKY MOUNTAIN 6-0 (5A) defeats Capital, 63-0

Defense holds inside own 10-yard line to start game. QB Tegan Sweaney (241 passing yards, two TDs) then gets loose for 46-yard TD run - and rout was on.

2. MERIDIAN 6-0 (5A) defeats Centennial, 48-0

Warriors get RB Marco Del Rio (75-yard TD run to start second half) and rushing attack (249 yards) warmed up for next week's showdown with Rocky Mountain.

3. RIGBY 5-1 (5A) defeats No. 4 Skyline, 28-0

Trojans' defense was a headliner (blocked FG, goal-line turnover), but QB Luke Flowers (three TD passes) quietly got it done again.

4. SKYLINE 4-2 (4A) loses to No. 3 Rigby, 28-0

Grizzlies had opportunity to take early lead with short field goal, but it was blocked. After that, Rigby's defense dominated.

5. MOUNTAIN VIEW 4-2 (5A) defeats Kuna, 45-17

Mavericks trailed 17-14 after Luke Selto's 99-yard kickoff return for the Kavemen, but ride own special-teams magic - blocked punt for TD - to get it going.

6. BISHOP KELLY 6-0 (4A) defeats Burley, 63-14

RB Peter Minnaert (158 rushing yards, four TDs) and the Knights' defense (five turnovers) were in no mood to get involved in a "track meet" Friday.

7. EAGLE (4A) 4-2 defeats Boise, 23-13 (Thu.)

Things weren't going well, so the Mustangs turned to the run game (167 yards, three TDs) and defense (shutout for three quarters, first-quarter safety).

8. HIGHLAND 3-3 (5A) defeats Blackfoot, 34-28

Five rushing touchdowns, including two apiece by QB Drew Hymas and RB Mason Fullmer, ground Broncos' high-flying aerial attack - barely.

9. SUGAR-SALEM 6-0 (3A) defeats Layton Christian (UT), 28-9

Not sure what's more exhausting for Diggers - start of harvest break (and late-night practices) or dealing with Oregon DL commit Tevita Pome'e. Either way, big win.

10. MINICO 6-1 (4A) defeats Canyon Ridge, 69-7

Spartans jump out to 35-0 by scoring on every first-quarter drive - and also getting an interception return for a touchdown by CB Stockton Chandler.
