Here are the candidates for the WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athlete of the Week for Oct. 3-8 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. IDAHO NOMINEES

Alex Acevedo, Skyview volleyball: The Oregon commit netted a match-high 28 kills on national television (ESPNU) in a four-set loss to Papillion-La Vista South (NE) at the GEICO Volleyball Invitational in Omaha, Nebraska.

Daniel Carrillo, Nampa football: Piled up 308 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including an 89-yard run that was the game-winner in a 34-26 win over Skyview.

Ian Duarte, Eagle football: Only touched the ball eight times, but still racked up 174 all-purpose yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 28-19 win over Mountain View to clinch the 5A Southern Idaho Conference River Division title.

Emry Gibbs, Rocky Mountain girls golf: Gibbs won the Class 5A state championship in her fourth and final try with a 6-over 154.

Drew Hymas, Highland football: Completed 75% of his passes, including a 26-yard touchdown and the game-winning two-point conversion, while running for 127 yards and a pair of scores in a 43-42 come-from-behind win over then No. 3 Rigby.

Bryce Johnson, South Fremont football: Totaled 265 yards, including 151 yards on the ground, and three total touchdowns in a 28-26 win over Teton.

Ashton McArthur, Madison boys golf: McArthur erased a 7-stroke deficit on the final day with a 10-under 62 to not only set Teton Lake’s course record, but capture the Class 5A state title with a two-day total of 11-under par.

Isaac McKeown, Post Falls football: Tallied 334 yards and three touchdowns through the air in a 42-35 win over then-No. 7 Lewiston.

Julian Neri, Wilder football: Neri had not one, not two, not three, but nine touchdowns, including five scores through the air and 141 yards on the ground in a 88-51 shootout win over Greenleaf Friends.

Annastasia Peters, Post Falls girls cross country: Peters posted the state’s fastest time at 17 minutes, 22.16 seconds during her win at the Williams Johnson Sandpoint Invitational.

Parker Pettit, Sandpoint football: Utilized his arm (118 passing yards, two TDs) and his legs (147 rushing yards, two TDs) in a 38-13 win over then-No. 5 Lakeland.

Parker Rushton, Borah football: Galloped for 239 yards and four touchdowns in a 29-14 win against Boise.

Kenyon Sadiq, Skyline football: Caught five passes for 118 yards - his fourth 100-yard receiving performance - but had the game-changing interception and winning touchdown run in the fourth quarter in the Grizzlies' win over Blackfoot.

Tate Whitaker, Raft River football: Threw for 231 yards and three touchdowns, ran for 52 and a score, recorded 10 tackles and had an interception in a 26-12 win over Murtaugh.

Carter Woodland, Notus football: Only needed eight carries to go for 156 yards and four touchdowns to go along with an 80-yard punt return for a score in a 74-14 win over Idaho City.
