Congratulations to Bishop Kelly guard Caroline Knothe for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athletes of the Week for Jan. 23-Jan. 28!

The senior had one of best halves of her career - in one of the biggest games. Knothe tallied 21 of her game-high 24 points in the second half as the Knights won the 4A SIC title for the first time in eight years with a win over Columbia.

Knothe collected 94.3% of the overall vote and finished ahead of Lapwai boys basketball player Kase Wynott, who had 2.3% of the vote.

IDAHO NOMINEES

Aspen Caldwell, Thunder Ridge girls basketball: Racked up 26 points as the Titans finished the regular season 21-0 in a 64-45 win over Rigby.

Garrett Campbell, Highland boys basketball: Had a season-high 23 points in a 70-58 win over Bonneville.

Liam Campbell, Owyhee boys basketball: Totaled a combined 43 points in games over nationally ranked teams, including in a 63-60 win over Durango (NV).

Brooklyn Dayley, Melba girls basketball: Notched 18 points, 13 steals and five assists in a 53-34 win over Columbia.

Chloe Grieser, Genesee girls basketball: Chalked up 27 points in a 46-41 win over Whitepine League rival, Potlatch.

Avery Howell, Boise girls basketball: Recorded a double-double of 23 points and 19 rebounds in a 48-45 win over defending state champ Timberline to clinch 5A Southern Idaho Conference title.

Zoie Kessinger, Lewiston girls basketball: Registered 22 points, including draining four 3-pointers in a 74-69 win over Clarkston (WA.) in the annual Golden Throne rivalry game.

Javonte King, Blackfoot boys basketball: Put up all 25 of his points in the second half in a 66-61 win over Class 5A’s Rigby.

Kolton Mitchell, Lake City boys basketball: Bagged 29 points, including 16 in the third quarter when he hit four 3-pointers, in a 90-53 win over Coeur d’Alene.

Berrett Wilson, Madison boys basketball: Tallied 16 of his 23 points in the opening quarter before putting the game away at the free throw line with 11 seconds remaining to help hand Pocatello its first loss of the season in a 61-58 win.

Kase Wynott, Lapwai boys basketball: Scored a career-high 52 points to go with 12 rebounds and five assists in a 77-42 win over Logos.
