Listed below are some of the top standouts and performers from Week 8 high school football games throughout the Lincoln State: 

Dominik Ball, RB, Palatine

Ball ran for 168 yards on just 13 carries and had touchdown runs of 44 and 56 yards in Palatine’s 30-7 victory against Hoffman Estates. Palatine improved to 8-1 on the season and clinched the Mid Suburban West.

Robert Battle, QB, East St. Louis

The junior quarterback was impressive on Friday completing 14 of 22 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns and added 34 yards on the ground in a 40-10 win at De Smet (St. Louis, MO).

Lynel Billups-Williams, WR, Crete-Monee

Billups-Williams had a 62-yard receiving touchdown and a 60-yard punt return for a touchdown in the third quarter of a 25-22 Crete-Monee win against Kankakee.

Antonio Brown, RB, Jacobs

The senior running back had a big game on Friday with 16 carries for 222 yards and three touchdowns. He helped lead Jacobs to a 37-7 victory to earn a share of the Fox Valley Conference championship.

Sam Deligio, QB, Huntley

Deligio had a strong performance this week as he rushed 16 times for 204 yards and two late touchdowns to help Huntley beat Crystal Lake South 27-19 and improve to 8-1 on the season.

Denzell Gibson, RB, IC Catholic Prep

Gibson carried the IC offense on Friday as he put up more than 200 all-purpose yards and three total touchdowns in a 25-14 win over conference rival St. Francis.

H.J. Grigsby, RB, Joliet Catholic

Grigsby, a junior running back, had touchdown runs of 21, 44, and 56 yards in the Hilltoppers' 56-20 win against Montini.

Zane Hogan, RB, Virden North Mac

Hogan rushed for 225 yards and three touchdowns on just 10 carries in a 34-6 win over Staunton. The Panthers rushed for 533 yards.

Mitchell Hughes, DB, Grayslake North

Hughes, a sophomore defensive back, intercepted two passes to lead an impressive defensive effort in a 31-13 conference win over Wauconda. The victory secured a share of the Northern Lake County Conference title.

Tyler Jansey, RB/LB, Batavia

Jansey, a Wisconsin Badger, rushed 21 times for 234 yards. His 93-yard touchdown run started the scoring for Batavia.

Chris Lofgren, RB, Marist

Lofgren rushed for nearly 100 yards and three touchdowns in the second half of his team's 34-16 win against CCL/ESS foe Brother Rice.

Logan Malachuk, QB, Nazareth Academy

The sophomore quarterback completed 16 of his 24 passes for 189 yards and three touchdowns to help the Roadrunners beat Benet Academy 37-7. Nazareth moved to 5-4 on the season in a bid for a playoff spot.

Matt Projansky, QB, Stevenson

The senior quarterback was very efficient on Friday as he completed 18 of 24 attempts for 281 yards and three touchdowns en route to a 43-8 league victory against Libertyville.

Gage Range, DB, Yorkville

Range, a junior defensive back, came up big with three second-half interceptions to help propel the Foxes to a 17-0 win over Oswego.

Mac Resetich, RB, Hall

Resetich put in an impressive effort in Hall’s victory against Bureau Valley. He rushed 15 times for 272 yards and four touchdown and added a 74 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. During the contest, he eclipsed 2,000 rushing yards on the season.

Colt Michael, QB, O’Fallon

Michael was a threat through the air and on the ground for the Panthers on Friday. He threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns and added a rushing score to help O’Fallon to a 49-20 victory over Cahokia.

Payton Solomon, QB, Lemont

Solomon completed 10 of 14 first half passes for 169 yards and three scores while helping Lemont to a 49-6 victory over Thornton Fractional South.

Zane Timon, QB, Mascoutah

Timon threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns in Mascoutah’s 50-23 win against Carbondale. He also added a successful 2-point conversion pass and 58 yards on the ground. 

Tyler Vasey, QB, Prairie Ridge

Vasey put up video-game numbers in Prairie Ridge’s 56-49 victory over Crystal Lake Central. He rushed for 389 yards and four touchdowns on 32 carries and also threw a touchdown pass to secure the Wolves' victory and share of the Fox Valley Conference title.

Matt Vezza, QB, York

Vezza completed 27 of 38 passes for 286 yards and three TDs to help York secure a West Suburban-Silver Conference title and the school's first 9-0 season in their history.

Jesse Watson, WR, East St. Louis

Watson, a junior wide receiver, caught four passes for 89 yards and three touchdowns to help the top-ranked Flyers improve to 7-2 with a 40-10 road win at De Smet (St. Louis, MO).

Nate Wrublik, RB, Lemont

Wrublik needed only 10 carries to rush for 169 yards and two touchdowns in Lemont’s 49-6 win against Thornton Fractional South on Thursday. The win secured an undefeated regular season and a South Suburban-Blue Conference title.
