Nazareth remains No. 1 despite losing for the first time since midway through last season, while Catholic League Blue leader Brother Rice, DuKane leader St. Charles East and unbeaten Father McGivney enter the rankings.

Here's a look at the SBLive Illinois Power 25 (records through April 30):

1. Nazareth (18-2)

Last week: 1

Roadrunners beat Benet 9-3 to extend their winning streak dating back to last season to 35 games before splitting the next two East Suburban Catholic games with the Redwings (10-9 loss, 11-1 win). Also fell 10-8 to Public League power Kenwood.

2. Providence (19-3)

Last week: 2

Celtics went 4-1 with wins over Loyola (16-2). St. Laurence (6-5 and 1-0) and Leo (10-0). Also fell 7-3 to Brother Rice, which leads the Catholic Blue at 10-1. Providence is second at 9-2.

3. Brother Rice (14-9)

Last week: NR

Crusaders have won six straight and lead Catholic Blue at 10-1. Last week they swept Mount Carmel 16-9 and 16-8 and beat Providence 7-3.

4. St. Laurence (17-7)

Last week: 3

Vikings went 3-2, beating Marmion 3-0 on a no-hitter by Richie Gomez, Fenwick 5-1 and Mount Carmel 16-4. They dropped a pair to Providence (6-5 on a walk-off and 1-0).

5. New Trier (17-3)

Last week: 8

Memorable week for the Trevians. They beat Montini 3-1 on Monday at Guaranteed Rate Field, and Mike Napoleon – in his 41st year as a head coach – broke Dave Swisegood's IHSA career wins record of 950 on Thursday. New Trier's other wins were 11-4 and 5-0 over Glenbrook North, 10-9 in eight innings against Libertyville and 11-0 vs. Highland Park on Noah Shapo's no-hitter.

6. Joliet Catholic (14-6-1)

Last week: 5

Quiet week for the Hilltoppers, whose only game was a 2-1 loss to Ottawa Marquette.

7. Lyons (16-3)

Last week: 18

West Suburban Silver-leading Lions have won nine in a row after a 6-0 week. Victories came against Proviso West (10-0, 15-0 and 10-0), Hinsdale Central (6-0), Lockport (10-3) and Proviso East (10-0).

8. Huntley (16-4)

Last week: 9

Red Raiders finished Fox Valley sweep of Jacobs, winning 12-2. Also split a conference series with Cary-Grove (7-6 loss, 5-3 win).

9. Edwardsville (17-7)

Last week: 10

Tigers swept Alton 16-6 and 13-1 in the Southwestern Conference. Also fell 12-8 to Fort Zumwalt (Mo.) West.

10. Mahomet-Seymour (21-3)

Last week: 11

Bulldogs have won eight in a row after beating Champaign Centennial 10-0, Hoopeston 16-1 and Rochester 7-6.

11. Stevenson (18-6)

Last week: 20

Patriots went 5-0, are tied with Libertyville for North Suburban lead at 6-2. Swept Lake Forest 11-1 and 10-2 and beat Lake Zurich 13-3 in the conference. Also knocked off Vernon Hills 15-1 and Fremd 16-1.

12. Lockport (13-8)

Last week: 6

Porters split with Homewood-Flossmoor in the Southwest Suburban Blue (13-9 win, 7-3 loss), fell 10-3 to Lyons and beat Joliet West 9-2.

13. Lincoln-Way East (17-6)

Last week: 14

Griffins went 3-1, walking off Lincoln-Way West 3-2, beating Kankakee 16-1, falling 10-8 in eight innings to Oswego East and beating Valparaiso (Ind.) 17-8.

14. Lincoln-Way West (16-6)

Last week: 12

Warriors were 1-2, losing 3-2 to Lincoln-Way East and 9-3 to Lemont, and beating Downers Grove North 10-0,

15. Mount Carmel (13-8)

Last week: 13

Caravan beat St. Rita 11-8 to split one Catholic Blue series and fell 4-3 in eight innings to Loyola to split another conference series. Also were swept 16-9 and 16-8 by Brother Rice and lost 16-4 to St. Laurence in more Catholic Blue play.

16. Sandburg (17-4-1)

Last week: 16

Eagles are 9-1 in their last 10 after sweeping Bolingbrook 7-1 and 8-5 and beating Homewood-Flossmoor 9-7.

17. St. Rita (16-6)

Last week: 4

Mustangs lost twice in the Catholic Blue, 11-8 to Mount Carmel and 8-3 to Marmion.

18. St. Viator (11-5)

Last week: 17

Lions beat Mundelein 9-3 and walked off Carmel 6-5 in the East Suburban Catholic.

19. Lemont (16-5)

Last week: 19

Went 4-0 to extend its winning streak to seven games. Beat TF South 17-7 and 13-3, Richards 5-3 and Lincoln-Way West 9-3.

20. Warren (14-5)

Last week: 15

Blue Devils split a North Suburban series with Mundelein (3-0 win, 12-8 loss) and beat Lakes 15-3.

21. Lane (17-8)

Last week: 22

Public League Jackie Robinson North leader is 11-1 in conference after beating Young 6-1 and Payton 8-3 and 8-3.

22. St. Charles East (15-1)

Last week: NR

DuKane-leading Saints have won 12 in a row. Last week they beat Wheaton Warrenville South 11-0 and 6-4 to complete a conference sweep and edged Geneva 7-6.

23. Father McGivney (26-0)

Last week: NR

Class 2A power has defeated a number of larger schools, highlighted by a signature win over Edwardsville, 6-4.

24. Sycamore (16-2)

Last week: 24

Spartans have won six in a row after sweeping Sandwich 17-0 and 12-2 and rolling by local rival DeKalb 12-1.

25. Marist (10-8-1)

Last week: 24

Took two of three in an East Suburban Catholic series with Marian Catholic, losing 5-1 and winning 3-2 and 10-7.
