Ben Davis standout Sheridan Sharp signs with Southern Illinois

Ben Davis senior point guard Sheridan Sharp thought he had his college destination figured out after committing to Nicholls State in mid January. 

After a coaching change, the 6-foot-3 standout announced on April 25 that he was decommitting from the school and re-opening his recruitment. 

Sharp found his new college home recently when he announced he was committing and signing with Southern Illinois University. 

He picked the Salukis after also receiving scholarship offers from Florida International and Wyoming. 

Sharp was one of the driving forces for Ben Davis during the Giants' unforgettable 33-0 season capped by winning the Indiana 4A championship – the program's fourth title.

Sharp dished out eight assists and grabbed five rebounds in the championship game win over Kokomo. He averaged 9.8 points and six assists per game during his senior season.
