SBLive Iowa Top 25 softball rankings: ADM moves to No. 1 spot after big shakeup

The top 10 had a bit of a shakeup this week as the Iowa softball season heads to Week 4. ADM is the new No. 1, but you can make a case for any of the top five to be in that spot. 

A look at the Top 25 after Week 3. Records are through Saturday’s games. 

1. ADM (16-1)

Lost to Bettendorf last week, but defeated North Linn, Louisa-Muscatine and North Scott.

2. Johnston (14-1)

Dragons have scored 10 or more runs in their last four games.

3. North Linn (16-2)

Only losses are to Bettendorf and ADM.

4. Mount Vernon (15-1)

Mustangs posted four wins last week.

5. Muscatine (16-1)

Only loss of the season so far was to Assumption.

6. Clear Creek-Amana (15-1)

Split a doubleheader with Williamsburg last week.

7. Linn-Mar (15-0)

Junior Jordyn Beck has an 0.90 ERA in seven games.

8. Waukee Northwest (12-2)

Wolves are on a six-game winning streak.

9. Lisbon (16-1)

The Lions haven’t lost since the season-opening defeat to Mount Vernon.

10. Davenport Assumption (9-3)

Two losses last week knocked the Knights from our No. 1 spot.

11. Fort Dodge (11-3)

Split with Ames last week.

12. Winterset (13-3)

Huskies lost to ADM last week, then won four straight.

13. Central Springs (11-0)

Panthers had three shutouts last week

14. Iowa City Liberty (17-3)

Lightning split with Dubuque Senior last week.

15. Williamsburg (11-6)

A tough schedule last week — splits with Clear Creek-Amana and Mount Vernon, and a loss to Muscatine.

16. North Union (13-2)

Lost to Spirit Lake last week.

17. Ankeny Centennial (8-6)

Jaguars can’t get any momentum against a difficult schedule

18. Southeast Warren (10-2)

Four wins last week, including a victory over Wayne.

19. Newell-Fonda (17-2)

The Mustangs extended their winning streak to 15 games.

20. Twin Cedars (10-1)

Sabers take a 10-game winning streak into doubleheader with Martensdale-St. Mary’s

21. Collins-Maxwell (9-0)

Spartans have scored 10 or more runs in their last four games.

22. Martensdale-St. Mary’s (10-1)

Blue Devils had their 10-game winning streak snapped by Carlisle.

23. Norwalk (11-2)

Split with Dallas Center-Grimes last week.

24. West Burlington-Notre Dame (12-3)

Lost one-run games to Davenport North and Ottumwa.

25. Interstate 35 (9-3)

Has won eight consecutive games.
