Carroll Kuemper Catholic football takes SBLive Iowa team of the week honors by slimmest of margins
The Knights won the award by seven votes over Council Bluff Lewis Central football
The Carroll Kuemper Catholic football team won the SBLive Iowa Team of the Week award for Sept. 25-Oct. 2, but it wasn’t easy. The Knights and Council Bluffs Lewis Central fans were embroiled in a voting battle all week that came down to the final hour and seven votes. The Knights tallied 5,107 votes to the Titans’ 5,100.
The 7-0 Knights blanked East Sac County 63-0, their third straight game of 55 points or more last week. Kuemper stayed undefeated with a 42-7 trouncing of Treynor Friday night.
