How SBLive’s Top 25 Iowa high school football teams fared in the round of 16

Here’s how the Top 25 Iowa high school football teams fared Friday night:
1, West Des Moines Dowling (9-1) beat Davenport West 35-0
Ra’Shawd Davis carried 14 times for 132 yards and two touchdowns for the Maroons.
2. Ankeny (9-1) beat Sioux City East 17-0
Hawks blanked a Black Raider offense that was averaging 42.9 points, second in 5-A.
3. Southeast Polk (9-1) beat Ames 49-3
Abu Sama and Harrison Gibson each ran for a pair of TDs and the Rams shut down an Ames offense averaging 35.2 points.
4. Pleasant Valley (9-1) lost to No. 22 West Des Moines Valley 15-10
West Des Moines Valley had scoring drives of 16 and 12 plays in the second half to dominate time of possession.
5. Cedar Rapids Xavier (10-0) beat Cedar Rapids Washington 44-7
Michael Cunningham rushed 18 times for 112 yards and two TDs, and Xavier broke it open after leading 16-7 at the half.
6. Waverly-Shell Rock (10-0) beat Fort Madison 49-7
Go-Hawks rushed for 342 yards and had a running clock the entire second half.
7. Council Bluffs Lewis Central (10-0) beat Le Mars 60-7
Braylon Kammrad threw six TD passes, two each to Curtis Witte and Lual Maker, in the romp.
8. Harlan Community (9-1) beat MOC-Floyd Valley 42-7
Iowa recruit Aidan Hall scored three first-quarter TDs, on receptions of 24 and 26 yards plus a 56-yard run.
9. Central Lyon/George-Little Rock (10-0) beat Clarinda 42-16
Lions held Clarinda to one first down and 16 total yards in the first half and led 35-0.
10. Williamsburg (10-0) beat Mid-Prairie 63-7
Raiders turn in a similar performance to their 56-7 regular-season victory.
11. Mount Vernon (10-0) beat Central DeWitt 23-9
Clark Younggreen (2 yards) and Henry Ryan (11 yards) rushed for third-quarter scores as the Mustangs led just 7-6 at the half.
12. Spirit Lake (10-0) beat Clear Lake 43-21
Indians led 36-0 midway through the third quarter before Clear Lake found some late offense.
13. Iowa City Liberty (9-1) beat Webster City 24-14
The Lightning’s 97-yard drive ended with Trey Gregoire’s 1-yard TD run and gave them a 24-14 lead with 8:15 remaining.
14. Carlisle (9-1) beat Newton 48-28
High-powered Wildcats led 27-7 at the half and added three more scores after the break.
15. North Scott (8-2) beat Western Dubuque 38-15
Kyler Gerardy of North Scott accounted for 342 yards of total offense while running for three scores and passing for another.
16. Cedar Falls (8-2) beat Ankeny Centennial 14-10
Tigers were outgained by Centennial 240-110 and had only four first downs, but they recovered three Jaguar fumbles.
17. West Branch (10-0) beat Waterloo Columbus 27-14
Tye Hughes threw for 136 yards and a score, and Andy Henson rushed for 131 yards and two scores for the winners.
18. Linn-Mar (6-4) lost to Cedar Rapids Prairie 50-28
Makelle Taylor ran wild with 21 carries for 332 yards and two TDs for Prairie, which lost to Linn-Mar one week ago.
19. Underwood (10-0) beat ACGC 62-14
Alex Ravlin passed for a school-record six touchdowns and the Eagles led 49-14 at the half.
20. West Hancock (10-0) beat Wapsie Valley 16-9
Eagles survived as Mitchell Smith passed for 110 yards and a score and rushed for 83 yards and another score.
21. Western Dubuque (6-4) lost to No. 15 North Scott 38-15
Western Dubuque trailed just 17-7 at the half, but North Scott broke it open after the intermission.
22. West Des Moines Valley (6-4) beat No. 4 Pleasant Valley 15-10
The battle-tested Tigers scored the most head-turning 5-A result of the night, as Ayden Price’s 2-yard TD run with 8:38 left gave them the lead for good.
23. Van Meter (9-1) beat Woodward-Granger 42-0
Ben Gordon carried 21 times for 220 yards and three touchdowns for Van Meter.
24. Waukee Northwest (6-4) beat Cedar Rapids Kennedy 9-0
Brady Grisham carried 33 times for 215 yards, and Northwest’s defense forced three second-half turnovers.
25. Ankeny Centennial (5-5) lost to No. 16 Cedar Falls 14-10
Trailing 14-10 with about eight minutes left, Centennial fumbled inches short of the Cedar Falls goal line and the Tigers recovered.
