Junior pitcher tosses a one-hit shutout in win against ranked North Polk

Carlisle softball player Addesyn Abel was voted SBLive Iowa High School Athlete of the Week honors for June 5-11.
The junior limited No. 7 North Polk to one hit as the fifth-ranked Wildcats won, 1-0. Abel gave up only a single and Carlisle scored the game’s only run on an RBI single by Lauren McGriff in the first inning.
Abel won the poll by garnering 14,464 total votes (32.12%). Coming in second was Linn-Mar softball player Jordyn Beck, who got 10,529 votes (23.38%), while Southeast Warren softball player Sturgis Fridley received 7,796 votes (17.31%).
