Weather caused some serious issues with the schedule statewide this past week, leading to several events being postponed or scrapped altogether.

But the train moves forward as we inch closer and closer by the day to districts and the state championships in Des Moines from Wells Fargo Arena next month.

We saw some fun dual action as Ankeny Centennial claimed a victory over rival Ankeny, 42-17. Both teams received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, as the Jaguars claimed nine matches.

Centennial went on a run starting with a decision by Tyler Brennan at 138, winning eight consecutive. Cody Vandermark, Maximus Dhabolt, Lucas Bruhl, Isaac Bruhl, Ari Ehlts, Ryan Smith, Jack Cahill and Mitchell Grider all added victories.

For Ankeny, Truman Folkers, Perez Perez, Jack Dorfler, Benjamin Walsh and Isaac Wignall were winners.

Southeast Polk runs through West Des Moines Valley

Rivals Southeast Polk and West Des Moines Valley locked horns, with the Rams dominating, 53-18.

The meet picked off with a fun one at 144, as JahKari Clark from Valley downed Garrett Kingery, 3-1. Cinsere Clark, Nic VanArkel and George-Grant Mavromatis were others to score wins for the Tigers.

Outside of those matches, though, Southeast Polk rolled. Logan Trenary, Wyatt Gibson, Antonio Loving, Holden Hansen, Cooper Martinson, Nico DeSalvo, Mat Prine, Carter Pearson, Maximus Riggins and Justis Jesuroga picked up victories.

Riggins earned a fall in just 64 seconds and Jesuroga finished off the night with a technical fall recorded in just over two minutes.

Iowa City High takes dual from Iowa City West

Following 14 matches, rivals Iowa City High and Iowa City West were tied at 37-all. From there, City High earned the win and bragging rights by the tiebreaker.

Winning matches for the Little Hawks were Kael Voinovich, Mason Tilley, Juan Martinez, Chris Davis, Cale Seaton, Jake Mitchell and Kael Kurtz.

Justin Avila forced the tie with a pin in the final matches for the Trojans, as Sterling Warren, Kyler Scranton, Ashton Honore, Charles Barnhouse, Alexander Pierce and Matthew Tran added wins.
