Johnson had a huge scoring night in a showdown win for the Eagles

In a huge basketball showdown on Jan. 27, Kam Johnson was truly a difference maker.
Johnson, a senior guard for Archbishop Shaw's boys basketball squad, turned in a 36-point performance in the Eagles' 77-69 win against a Catholic-Baton Rouge squad that had come in having won 10 of its past 11 games.
But the Eagles, in particular Johnson, had an answer for the Bears. Johnson had 21 of the team's 34 first-half points, also hitting five 3-pointers in that span.
He also had five rebounds and three assists along with going 9 of 12 from the free throw line as Shaw picked up its sixth straight win.
For his efforts, Johnson was voted the SBLive Louisiana Athlete of the Week covering Jan. 23-29.
