Look: Bryce Underwood, nation's No. 1 2025 quarterback, dishes on his approach to his recruitment

Bryce Underwood, Belleville High School (Mich.) sophomore and the top-rated class of 2025 quarterback nationally, turned heads as he led Belleville to a 13-1 record and an MHSAA Division I state championship as a freshman in 2021.

Now as a sophomore, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound signal called has Belleville (8-0) off to an undefeated start through eight weeks.

He holds offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Kentucky, Akron and Toledo, among others.

On3 lists Underwood as the No. 4 overall prospect in the nation and 247Sports has him at No. 6. Both have tabbed him as the nation's No. 1 QB.

SBLive caught up with Underwood after the Tiger's win over Franklin 42-14 on Friday night and talked recruiting.

"I really don't worry about rankings that much. I am focused on getting better as a person. That's my main focus."

On what he looks for in a college

"How they treat their players, what my family likes, and also what is best for me. How can I fit into their formation and stuff like that."

On his game, areas of improvement

"I would say I need to focus on getting the ball out quicker, so that's what is going to be my main focus this week."

On next week versus Brighton

"We're 1-0 every week. Starting on Sunday it's 0-0 again. So we're focused on being 1-0 every week until week 13."
