Detroit King lineman Johnathan Slack committed to Howard University Tuesday night via his social media.

Slack was previously committed to Michigan State, but he decommitted on December 11, and he was the top remaining recruit in Michigan yet to commit.

Slack told SBLive at the Under Armor All-American game what he is looking for in a school.

“Really where I can be developed, coached by the best. Go out there, go to a winning program, get better by the players, that’s all that it is, so I can do better in the future.

“It ain’t got nothing to do with the NIL or anything like that,” Slack said. “I’m picking the school that’s going to help me be better for the future.”

Slack told SBLive he planned on visiting Houston, Penn State and West Virginia in January.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pounder helped Detroit King to back-to-back state titles. He also participates in track and field. He told SBLive in January he wants to major in sports management or marketing.
