The Bridgman Bees defeated the Standish-Sterling Panthers 3-2 in the MHSAA Baseball Division 3 semifinals at McLane Stadium.

Standish-Sterling scored one run in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI single from Brayden Schabel, and they added another run in the fifth inning with an RBI double from Sam Briggs.

Bridgman capitalized on three Standish-Sterling errors in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the game at two. Cooper Allwood grounded out to the shortstop, and Kyle Douglas scored. Moments later, Alec MacMartin scored an unearned run.

The two teams entered the bottom of the ninth tied at two.

MacMartin singled up the middle with one out in the inning, Tanner Peters advanced MacMartin to second with a sacrifice bunt. Allwood singled to right center field, and MacMartin scored to send the Bees to the Division 3 title game. 

They will play Algonac at 11:30 a.m. at McLane Stadium on Saturday.

Bridgman pitcher Alec MacMartin pitched seven innings. He allowed two earned runs on four hits with six strikeouts and one walk.

Standish-Sterling pitcher Sam Briggs finished with 6.1 innings pitched. He allowed one earned run while striking out eight and walking two batter.
