Boys’ Basketball

Matthew Bothun, St. Francis

The senior committed to the University of North Dakota scored 46 points and had 11 rebounds in an 81-52 win at Pine City on Feb. 6, and he followed that up with 45 points and seven rebounds in a 92-85 win over Cambridge-Isanti on Feb. 9. He propelled himself to a third-place tie in the state with 558 points scored.

Abu Tarawallie, Heritage Christian

The sophomore scored 20 points and had 18 rebounds, and his team needed every one of them to win, 71-68, at West Lutheran, Feb. 7. He leads all of Minnesota averaging 16 rebounds per game.

Henry Erickson, Windom

The senior point guard scored 46 points and had 11 assists in a 188-95 win over Mountain Lake Area-Comfrey on Feb. 7. He had 21 points and 14 assists in a 90-54drubbing of Madelia two days later, and he scored 41 points and had 13 assists in a 111-97 win over Luverne on Feb. 10. His 262 assists is 102 more than the next most in the state.

Kyle Jorgensen, Minneapolis Washburn

The junior forward had 26 points in a 65-57 win at Minneapolis South, Feb. 6. He put up 21 points at home against the same team in a 75-61 win, Feb. 8, and he scored 24 points in a 75-73 thrilling win at Minneapolis Southwest, Feb. 10.

Kyle Martin, Milaca

The senior scored 27 points and grabbed 23 rebounds in a 71-66 win at Foley on Feb. 9. He’s tied for 10th in the state with 203 rebounds.

Girls’ Basketball

Tori Oehrlein, Crosby-Ironton

The freshman guard had 34 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists in a 79-23 rout at Aitkin, Feb. 7. On Feb. 10, she scored 36 points and had another 15 rebounds in a 73-72 win over Pequot Lakes. She leads all of Minnesota with 30.9 points per game.

Brynn Beffert, Hutchinson

The senior had two double-doubles, with 23 points and 13 rebounds in a 57-56 win over Delano on Feb. 7, and 10 points and 14 rebounds in a 64-61 win over Holy Family on Feb. 10. She’s second in the state with 304 rebounds.

Abby Inmon, Heritage Christian

The senior was five steals shy of a triple-double, with 25 points, 18 rebounds and five steals in a 68-27 rout at PACT, Feb. 10. She had 26 points and 21 rebounds in a 59-35 win at West Lutheran, Feb. 7, and 13 points and 23 boards in a 46-38 win at Spectrum, Feb. 9. Her 299 rebounds are third-most in Minnesota.

Maci Farmer, Jackson County Central

The senior wing scored 35 points on 50-percent shooting, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished seven assists and had eight steals in an 82-76 win over Worthington on Jan. 31. In a heartbreaking two-point loss at Windom on Feb. 2, she scored 29 points. She’s seventh in the state in scoring average with 23.8 points per game.

Jocelyn Land, Holy Family

The junior scored 31 points and had 16 rebounds in a 62-52 win over Southwest Christian, Feb. 7. Two days later she put up 24 points and grabbed nine boards in a 69-49 win over St. Anthony. The next day she scored 20 points and had eight rebounds in a three-point loss at Hutchinson. She’s fifth in Minnesota in scoring average (24.8).
