Tennis

Avery Lerfald, Tri-City United 

From September 12-21, the junior went 8-1 in doubles tennis matches and took first place at the New Ulm Girls Varsity Jamboree for the Titans.

Soccer

Maya Johnson, Southwest Christian (Girls)

The junior forward had two goals and two assists in all three of her team’s victories last week: a 6-1 win at Irondale on Sept. 23, an 8-0 win over Hutchinson/Glencoe-Silver Lake on Sept. 21, and another 8-0 drubbing of Mankato Loyola on Sept. 19. 

She’s second in the state with 27 goals scored and tied for sixth with 13 assists.

Maggie Primus, Rocori (Girls)

The senior goalkeeper made 30 saves and allowed just two goals last week. She stopped 19 of 20 shots on frame in a 2-1 win over Willmar, Sept. 21, and stopped seven of eight shots to get a 1-1 draw with Sauk Rapids-Rice on Sept. 19.

Audrey Garton, Academy of Holy Angels (Girls)

The senior committed to Minnesota State-Mankato had five goals and 11 assists over three games last week (all victories). She played a part in seven goals–scoring two and assisting on five others–in an 8-1 win over Simley on Sept. 23. 

The week propelled her to second in the state with 20 assists.

Marius Keita, Blaine (Boys)

The junior forward and midfielder scored all three of his team’s goals and put nine shots on frame in a 3-2 win at Spring Lake Park, Sept. 23. 

He also had an assist in a 3-1 victory over Andover, Sept. 21, and played a part in both goals scored (one goal, one assist) in a shutout of Coon Rapids, Sept. 19. His 16 goals are tied for seventh-most in the state.

Roberto Perez-Ordaz, Winona Cotter (Boys)

The senior forward and midfielder scored seven goals and had 10 assists over three victories last week. 

He played a part in eight goals (three goals, five assists) in a 13-2 rout at Caledonia on Sept. 19. He leads all of Minnesota with 22 assists and is second in the state with 20 goals.

Volleyball

Ava Ball, Nova Classical Academy

The junior University of South Dakota commit had more than 20 kills in four matches last week. She scored 126 kills over seven matches, pacing her team to a 4-3 record. She climbed into first place in the state with 237 kills.

Harper Powell, Two Harbors

The senior outside hitter had five solo blocks in a 3-0 win over Moose Lake/Willow River, Sept. 21. 

She also had 17 digs in a 3-1 loss at Duluth Marshall and recorded six kills in each match. She leads the state with 51 blocks.

Carly Gilk, Champlin Park

The junior scored 59 kills over four matches last week – all victories. She had 18 kills, six digs, four aces and a block in a 3-1 win over Anoka on Sept. 18. 

She also had 16 kills, 10 digs and two blocks in a 2-1 win over Marshall on Sept. 22. It launched her into the Minnesota top-10 in kills with 129.

Kailee Banta, Duluth Marshall

The junior libero logged 37 digs and six aces in a 3-1 win over Two Harbors, Sept. 18. She had 22 digs and five aces in a 3-0 win over Lakeview Christian the next day. She’s third in the state with 204 digs.

Football

Jakob Nachreiner, Springfield

The senior quarterback completed 14 of 20 pass attempts for 279 yards, with half of those completions going for touchdowns in a 53-20 drubbing of Wabasso on Sept. 22. 

He leads the state with 1,105 passing yards and 21 touchdowns.

Nolan Ginskey, Owatonna

The junior caught 11 passes from his brother, Jacob, for 206 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner, in a 26-21 win at Northfield, Sept. 22. His 500 receiving yards are fourth-most in Minnesota.

Camden Hungerholt, LeRoy-Ostrander

The junior quarterback rushed 40 times for 256 yards and three touchdowns in a 24-21 win over Southland on Sept. 22. He also completed 10 of 21 passes for 128 yards and had seven total tackles (five solo) on defense. 

His 1,029 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns are the most in the state.

Ray Beiningen, Mound Westonka

The junior rushed 38 times for 247 yards and five touchdowns in a 37-35 win at Providence Academy, Sept. 22. He even caught one pass for 35 yards. His 748 rushing yards are fifth-most in Minnesota, and his 13 rushing touchdowns are tied for third-most.

Cameron Begalle, Andover

The junior wide receiver had 10 catches for 254 yards and three touchdowns in a 63-56 shootout win over Elk River on Sept. 22. He’s second in the state with 535 receiving yards.

Hudson Dillon, Bethlehem Academy

The senior caught eight passes for 142 yards and three touchdowns as well as a two-point conversion in a 52-8 rout at Lewiston-Altura, Sept. 21. His eight touchdown receptions are the most in Minnesota.

Chris King, Mountain Iron-Buhl

The junior had three sacks, four tackles for loss and nine total tackles (eight solo) in a 72-0 shutout of Cass Lake-Bena on Sept. 22. His four sacks are fourth-most in the state.

Aidan Adamski, Two Harbors

The junior had five total tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack, a blocked kick, and a pass breakup in a 47-8 win over Proctor, Sept. 22. His 11 tackles for loss are tied for third-most in Minnesota.

Peyton Honnoll, Rogers

The senior place kicker nailed a 41-yard field goal before halftime to tie it at 13 in what would be a 26-13 win over Spring Lake Park on Sept. 22. He also hit from 23 yards out to score the game’s first points. His seven made field goals are the second-most in the state.

Savion Hart, St. Thomas Academy

The senior carried the ball 18 times for 184 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-14 rout at Mahtomedi, Sept. 22. 

His 9.9-yard rushing average is tied for fourth-best in Minnesota amongst running backs with at least 40 carries.
