JAN. 29 – TOP GIRLS BASKETBALL STARS IN MISSISSIPPI

Essence Baker, Germantown: Baker scored 17 points to lead Germantown to a 57-46 win over Starkville.

Dacia Bostic, Quitman: Scored 20 points to lead the Panthers past Richland 68-8.

Hayleigh Breland, Stone: Scored 37 points in a 61-53 win over Poplarville.

Nae Nae Ellis, Jackson Academy: Ellis had 15 points, 5 steals and 4 rebounds to lead JA to a 53-21 win over PCS.

Amaya Ford, Starkville: Ford scored a game-high 25 points in Starkville's 57-46 loss to Germantown.

Clara Garland, Tishomingo County: Scored 18 points with nine rebounds in a 53-30 win over Corinth.

Abbey Harrison, Hernando: Scored 16 points to lead Hernando to a 52-35 win over Horn Lake.

Janiah Hinton, Saltillo: Hinton scored a game-high 14 points to lead Saltillo to a 45-35 win over Center Hill.

Mary Houston Ivy, Booneville: Scored 16 points in a 46-42 win over Nettleton.

Addison Howell, Olive Branch: Howell scored 19 points to lead No. 1 Olive Branch to a 50-47 win over DeSoto Central.

Meckiya Maye, Velma Jackson: Scored 21 points in a 49-41 win over Yazoo County.

Maggie McVey, East Union: On senior night McVey scored 20 points to lead East Union to a 72-62 win over Potts Camp.

LaShaunte Payne, Magee: Payne led all scorers with 21 points in Magee's 58-32 win over St. Andrew's.
