Congratulations to Kosciusko softball INF/OF Makynlee Dickerson for being voted SBLive’s Mississippi High School Athlete of the Week for March 14-20!

The freshman recorded four singles and a double over a three-game span, including a win over Puckett.

Dickerson received 47.79% of the vote, beating out Northwest Rankin's Jolie Hays who finished second with 26.85%. Center Hill's Landon Scruggs finished third with 18.31% and Clinton's Cole Manuel finished fourth with 3.89%. There were over 58,000 votes tallied this week!

Here are the other athletes who were nominated for March 14-20:

Jolie Hays, Northwest Rankin Softball: Hays recorded two wins in the circle against Newton County and Neshoba Central. In eight innings against Newton County, Hays only gave up four hits and struck out 13 batters. Against Neshoba Central, the sophomore pitched a shut out-with one hit allowed and seven strikeouts.

Blakely Gill, Houston Softball: The sophomore went 4-for-4 at the plate against New Albany with two doubles, a triple, and five RBIs.

Dzayviunna Peyton, Jefferson Davis County Softball: The eighth-grader went 3-for-3 at the plate with three hits and five RBIs in a dominant 19-3 win over Our Lady Academy.

Kinsley Cospelich, Gulfport Softball: The senior pitcher struck out nine batters in a complete-game victory (7-1) over Hancock.

Cole Manuel, Clinton Baseball: Manuel drove in the go-ahead run with a two-run double in the third to lift the Arrows past Pearl, 4-2, in both teams' last non-division contest before district play begins next week.

Landon Scruggs, Center Hill Baseball: Scruggs had three hits and two RBIs to lead the Mustangs to a 12-7 win over No. 3 West Lauderdale in the Florence Spring Break Classic.

James Woody II, Ridgeland Baseball: The junior hit an RBI double to left center in the top of the eighth inning to lift the Titans past No. 3 West Lauderdale, 4-3, handing the Knights their first loss of the season.

Marshall Phillips, Sumrall Baseball: The senior recorded the win on the mound against Poplarville with 10 strikeouts in six innings pitched.

Kandin Williams, Brandon Baseball: The senior commit led the Bulldogs at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in a win against Harrison Central at the Battle at the Beach tournament.
