Congratulations to West Point running back Khanen Daniels for being voted SBLive's Mississippi High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 18-24.

Daniels ran the ball 21 times for 320 yards and four touchdowns in the Green Wave’s 59-35 win over Lafayette.

He received 68.75 percent of the vote, beating out Madison Central receiver Isaiah Spencer and Gautier quarterback Kaden Irving.

Ran the ball 22 times for 181 yards with four touchdowns in the Tigers’ 36-6 win over Natchez.

Za’Bauri Chandler, Crystal Springs

Completed 15 of his 26 passes for 223 yards and two touchdowns, ran for two more scores, and returned a fumble 60 yards for another touchdown in the Tigers’ 40-26 win over Port Gibson.

Cobey Craft, Taylorsville

Rushed 17 times for 170 yards and five touchdowns in the Tartars’ 53-6 win over Enterprise-Lincoln.

Isaac Day, West Tallahatchie

Ran for 235 yards and four touchdowns in the Choctaws’ 44-0 win over West Bolivar.

Dante Dowdell, Picayune

Rushed nine times for 228 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-7 win over Pearl River Central.

Gavin Griffin, Velma Jackson

Carried the ball 28 times for 303 yards with six touchdowns in the Falcons’ 49-29 win over Leake Central.

Ahmad Hardy, Lawrence County

Ran the ball 10 times for 188 yards and two touchdowns and returned two fumbles for scores in the Cougars’ 56-20 win over Tylertown.

Bray Hubbard, Ocean Springs

Accounted for 341 yards of total offense with three touchdowns in the Greyhounds’ 42-7 win over Hancock.

Kaden Irving, Gautier

Completed 32 of his 53 passes for 448 yards and accounted for seven touchdowns — four through the air and three more on the ground — in a 49-21 win over George County.

Marcus Jones, Ethel

Ran the ball 27 times for 300 yards with three touchdowns and logged an interception on defense in the Tigers’ 56-20 win over Leake County.

Eli Smith, East Central

Ran the ball 25 times for 279 yards and three touchdowns in a 47-21 win over West Harrison.

Isaiah Spencer, Madison Central

Caught eight passes for 182 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars’ 41-21 win over Starkville.
