DeSoto Central's Drew Musselwhite voted SBLive's Mississippi Athlete of the Week (Sept. 25 - Oct. 2)
Congratulations to DeSoto Central linebacker Drew Musselwhite for being voted SBLive's Mississippi High School Athlete of the Week for Sept 25-Oct. 2.
Musselwhite was credited with 16 total tackles, including one for a loss, and recovered a fumble in a 37-0 win over Horn Lake.
He received 48.89 percent of the 39,973 votes cast, beating out Biggersville’s Jathan Hatch (36 percent) and Brandon’s Lester Miller (11.23 percent).

Ran the ball 19 times for 195 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-28 win over Starkville.
Chandler Chapman, St. Stanislaus
Carried the ball 32 times for 314 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-20 win over Lakeshore (La.). He was also credited with six tackles and picked off a pass on defense.
Dante Dowdell, Picayune
Rushed 13 times for 240 yards and three touchdowns in a 49-7 win over Vancleave.
Jeremiah Harrell, Tupelo
Completed 13 of his 27 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-0 win over Oxford.
Jathan Hatch, Biggersville
Ran the ball seven times for 263 yards and four touchdowns in a 46-7 win over Tupelo Christian School.
Dante Kelly, Leflore County
Was credited with 12 tackles and two sacks to go along with a pick-six in a 28-0 win over O’Bannon.
Dylan Lewis, Northwest Rankin
Ran the ball 33 times for 154 yards and four touchdowns and recorded two interceptions on defense in a 45-28 win over Terry.
Lester Miller, Brandon
Had eight catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns in a 21-3 win over Warren Central.
Lazarious Penn, Humphreys County
Ran the ball 20 times for 239 yards and two touchdowns, caught one scoring pass and returned a kickoff 91 yards to the house in a 60-20 win over Yazoo County.
Braylen Williams, Nettleton
Completed 26 of his 48 passes for 393 yards, four touchdowns through the air, two more on the ground and 52 rushing yards in a 42-41 overtime win over Senatobia.
